rocknrobn26
I met a couple of these guys. One was a friends Dad. He did 3 or 4 beach landings! He ended up in Ike's personal guard. Yup, he was in the airborne 101st and the 87th I believe.

TimC
thanks for the reminder Tim. Have you been there? Seemingly endless rows of crosses (and Stars of David.) Very moving..... I wish I had. It's one of the places I would like to see one day. I have been to the D-Day Memorial in Bedford County, VA (a couple of counties over). This was the town where per-capita, they lost the most residents on that day. It's very moving. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_D-Day_Memorial
DMD
A friend of my Dad was one of those guys who parachuted in behind the beach from one of those gliders. One thing I have always wanted to go see is Normandy and the cemetary there.
