Swampnuts
I have to say that, looking at the draft and being happy with my own set of selections (regardless of the mock grade...we'll see on that), I think Spain has assembled the strongest team. Getting J Jones and T Barber when he did really gave him a nice start that he was able to roll along with. Kudos, Spain. 911833 I agree, Spain's starting lineup is pretty strong. Brooks Tiki Julius Clayton DJax Troupe/Franks Stover Sweet lineup for this many teams. Nice job! All the starters are in the top 20 for their positions in the Huddle rankings. Nice job! 912030 Yeah the Spainard has a pretty solid team. I'll go ahead and will pat myself on the back a little bit, though. I feel pretty good about my team: QB - Brady (solid while not spectacular) / Garcia (gotta figure Harrington craps the bed and Mooch's boy takes over) RB - K. Jones, Dunn (Jones will be a top-5 back and Dunn is solid as a #2 RB in this format) / Shipp, Blaylock, Moats (3 RBs behind injury-prone and/or rookie backs) WR - Holt, Ward, ??? (very solid 1-2 punch, assuming Ward signs) / Jurevicius, Colbert, K. Johnson (one of these guys will emerge as a fine #3 WR, even in a 12-man league) TE - McMichael (couldn't get a top-tier, but he'll be active) K - Carney (who cares, but hey, plenty of opp's, and indoor kicker) D - TBA Good job by all -- not the easiest format to draft. REZ
We would start 3 wr's in this league. I really like my team for a 16 team league. Palmer with Brees backing him up. Holmes/Bell as the starting rb's. Missed out on LJ as the backup though. He went before my 4th round pick. Duckett/Davenport/Morris are my backup rb's. A.Johnson/Coles/Patten would be my starting wr's with Williamson/Pathon as my projected backups. Putzier as the te. Hopefully he plays like the Denver te's of old. Caveman_Nick
Even with the holdout, I think the Huddle rankings are seriously underestimating Ward. With R-berger havgin a year under his belt (and assuming there is nothing permanently wrong with this hand or his head), Ward should be the focal point of the passing attack. Anyways, in the spirit of Darin3's post, I am fairly pleased with: QB: Vick - could be meat, could be cake. In a 16 team format, I like a player that could just absolutely explode in an exciting and dynamic fashion for tons of fantasy points. Manning - the other white meat. Well, I just keep looking at the giants and thinking that if the people around Eli perform to their level of capability he could have a hugh season. Toomer, Burress, Shockey, Barber. Nice supporting cast. RB: The strength of the team. Dillon - very reliable. He will be a consistent producer all season. S Jackson - very underated by people IMHO. He'll be the focal point of one of the most prolific offenses in the league. Other people want to see it first, but I think I saw enough last year to know that when he's in the mix as the main guy he will be hugh. L Johnson - This won't be the first mock in which I'll be criticized for taking him too early. I know this much, though...Larry Johnson's per game average as a starter was over 30 pts per game. If he's sharing time with Priest, they will both produce and he will be a great 3rd RB for buys and the like. If Priest goes down, I'll be winning a championship on LJ's back. Not bad for a 4th round pick. WR: My 'Sleeper' position. Lots of talent at this position, and the rankings at WR are soooo subjective. Roy Williams showed his talent last year, and should be the man in Det. Charles Rogers might have been a little bit of a reach, but the upside is so obvious and hugh, I had to reach for the brass ring. Randle El could be the #1 in Pitt, and even if he isn't he's a great weapon on offense. I like him to have a good, productive year. Toomer is the #1 in NY, and he has some nice talent around him. If a guy named Manning gets it together, Toomer could easily be a top 10 wideout. Lastly we have Reggie Williams. Highly touted in the draft. Underperformed last year, but Byron Leftwich needs a young goto guy, and I think Reggie will get it done. All in all, I think I will get at least 2 good solid performers out of this group. TE: Heap. Health problems. Please stay healthy, and you will be an elite TE. Teyo Johnson is the biggest sleeper TE IMHO. WR skills in a aTE body playing on an offense with many distractions for opposing defenses. It's nice to be around Rnady Moss. Also, what meny people forget is the nice years Wesley Walls enjoyed with Kerry Collins as his QB. Collins also QB's shockey's best season. He likes his TEs. PK: Janikowski...Oakland with a new point-scoring look, It's fine. Def: Iggles have a nice defense every season. For some reason they were ranked on the low side, but I'll take their year to year consistency. Swampnuts
QB- Hasselbeck- Solid fantasy starter RB- Jamal Lewis- No questions with this pick. RB- Cadillac Williams- My favorite pick, I think he's due for a big year. RB Reserves- Barlow as my bye week replacement, Mike Anderson could still take the job in Denver, and Chester Taylor to handcuff Jamal. WR- Reggie Wayne- Best WR option I had in Round 3. WR- Rod Smith- Still produces enough for a solid #2 receiver WR Reserves- Donte Stallworth, Matt Jones, and Rod Gardner. All middle of the pack, with Jones having big potential. I still think Gardner will end up starting in Carolina. TE- LJ Smith and Heath Miller- Who knows? Not a strength here. K- Akers- My highest rated kicker. Not a dynamic squad, but I'd be more than competitive in this league.
nogohawk
Okay, I'll play ... QB - CPep - what's not to like? And having Carr as a backup, could be his year to break out. RB - R Brown (if he ever gets into camp and puts Ricky back in his place), D. Foster (as long as he stays healthy) and Toefield (risk with plenty of upside potential should Fragile Fred be done) - should have at least 2 good backs to pick from every week. Backups of G Jones (just in case Toefield or FF don't make it happen) and Fargas (showed some promise last year). WR - Three #1's for their respective teams - CJ, D Branch and S Moss. And Mike Williams in reserve for when Rogers or Roy Williams gets injured. TE - Wiggins put up some decent numbers last year and hoping he gets more looks without Randy in the picture. PK - Elam (gotta love kicking in that thin air!) Def - Bucs (always a potential for a top D) Lots of potential ... but some risk too. nogohawk
I've pre-drafted my final 2 - PK & Def - I hope their were enough selections put down, but in case I'm not here, have someone or DMD select for me. spain
QB: Aaron Brooks and Steve Air McNair: Not a bad qb tandem. RB: Julius Jones and Tiki Barber are a pretty good starting rb corps. Backups: Jerome Bettis, Mewelde Moore, and Marion Barber WR: Michael Clayton and Darryl Jackson starters. Backups: Brandon Llyod, Cedrick Wilson, and Roddy White TE: Ben Troupe and Bubba Franks K: Matt Stover and Josh Scobey Def: Redskins and Titans Overall, I like the way this 16 team draft worked out for me. Good starters at every position with some quality depth.

Solid QBs if one stays healthy & produces. Very solid RB corps with depth. Solid WRs. Iffy TEs, IMO. K & D...
