Big Score 1
It all depends. A.) How he looks in pre season B.) How far he drops.
rebdog
If the Bengals say he'll start the season, I'll take him no problem. In that offense with the big-play ability of Chad Johnson hed be my #2 QB overall for sure.
Jackass
if the draft were today i would not. but we will all have a better idea in a few months.

Hugh 0ne
i took it as the #2 overall behind manning, not a #2 on a fantasy roster. 1481732 Yeah, that's how I interpreted it as well. And if he heals, I think he is the #2 QB. But right now it's too early to tell.

Perchoutofwater
I agree with most of the others. There is no way I'd even want him as the #1 QB on my team right now (unless it is a dynasty). Right now, he is a big gamble, and I wouldn't take it in a redraft. I can think of several I'd rather have before him. Now if he gets to training camp, and shows no, or little sign of injury, I might make him my #2.
Wizards
No the way people are talking Vince Young ought to be #2 behind Manning That's why I love mock drafts! They always give you indicators how far a player drops due to injury..will be interesting to see if he doesn't get a lot of preseason playing (which he won't) where he gets drafted...as it stands right now he's not top 10 on my list until otherwise...same goes for other injured players....Priest Holmes, Pennington, Ahman Green, Fred Taylor, Buckhalter, and the likes....how can you rank any of them in top 10 at this point....it would be nice to say oh yeah "IF" he returns to form...then yes he'll be #2 behind Manning....but I have doubts, therefore "I WON'T DRAFT HIM" unless he's there in the 8th or 9th round....Palmer or any injured (seriously injured) player to make my squad (unless dynasty) has to prove they merit to sit my bench...Palmer can't start for me right now with what I know....potential....he's got it all in the potential category.....so does Holmes and Green!! The Irish Doggy
I honestly believe the Bengals believe Carson will be ready for the opener. They don't think its a bunch of shine.
SteelBunz
Personally......I think he could be standing in the pocket on crutches and STILL be the #2 QB. Even if he sits out the first few games....a 13 game season of Palmer is worth more than a 16 game season of most anyone else. At worst....he's top 5. Grits and Shins
Well I will be retaining his services in my dynasty league despite his burdensome salary of $62.6 (12.52% of my salary cap). My other QB ... Drew Brees :doah:
cmutts
will you guys still draft him early if you have the chance?i would rather have a healthy QB like hasslebeck to palmer personaly. 1481216 As of today, I would hold off. Peyton is number 1 and then I would look at Brady and Hasselbeck. After that you have a bunch of QB's coming back from injurys. Culpepper and Palmer are ahead of schedule supposedly. McNabb looks great but who are his WR's? I would consider Palmer from the 5th round on today. I would also make sure I have a viable option at QB for the first month of the season. i_am_the_swammi
will you guys still draft him early if you have the chance?i would rather have a healthy QB like hasslebeck to palmer personaly. 1481216 our draft is late August, so I also will get a sneak-peak at him in pre-season (or at least a timeframe on his return), but even if he healthy, he is still a concern for me. Will he be as mobile, and be able to escape the pockets and make big plays downfield (which accounted for many long TDs over the past two seasons)? Will he be more skitterish because of this lack of mobility? Will he force passes early because he knows he can't avoid a heavy rush as easily as before? Who knows. But the question will only be answered once the season begins. In a redraft league, I'd have him as the 3rd/4th overall, with Brady being #2, if only because he, like Manning, typically operates a well-oiled-machine-tye offense, and is a solid 25-30 TDs every year. I might also slip Hasselback ahead of him, for similar reasons. They are definitely the safer picks, but don't have as much "spectacular" upside as a healthy Palmer might. If you are drafting a dynasty/keeper team, I'd take him ahead of Hass, and perhaps Brady too.....if Palmer loooked great in preseason. But I would be a very nervous owner if it was my call to make with late, as I think his risk is greater than what others are saying, for the reasons above. Clubfoothead
I wait for QBs but a healthy Plamer in preseason would make him #2 in my rankings.
