Egret
He was being ignored by the speaker, Kerry, he was getting loud and confrontational as the questions weren't answered. The police followed him in for a reason. I highly contest your argument that he was a peaceful, non-disruptive student/person. So, because he was speaking loudly the police needed to lay hands on him? Two of the officers are on administrative leave now. I'd think using a taser would have an even higher threshold of use compared with hands on. There were six cops there. They didn't need to use a taser. If defending free speech makes me a liberal, color me a pinko commie.

Unless the cops are all named Hankk, that's unlikely. He got loud and confrontational. They approached him, he resisted arrest. He continued to scream and fight. This went on for an extended time. They brought him to the ground, he continued to struggle, they subdued him. I'm fine with it, and if it makes me a H8Tank sympathiser, color me a genie outfit wearing goat humper. AtomicCEO
What did the police put their hands on him in the first place for? Do the police have the right to commit battery on anyone for asking a question in a calm, civil manner? The beginning of the video does not start with him coming to the mic. I would guess that prior to the tape rolling, he had been ranting for some time, and may have been asked to leave already, and he refused. This wasn't an official camera, and I bet someone started rolling when they saw what was about to happen, so we missed the police being polite about it. After asking him to leave, and him refusing, that would make him technically trespassing, and he could be manhandled, especially since he resisted initial gentle nudges. I'm surprised CEO hasn't chimed in with the lefties on this one. Who are you?
broncosn05
So you are in favor of people being arrested for speaking in a civil, peaceful manner, then? Hell we don't even know what the guy asked. But who cares! He deserved it right? What says America more than a man being assaulted for a political question? At least Kerry was a class act. 5 O knew they were being filmed too.

Azazello1313
So you are in favor of people being arrested for speaking in a civil, peaceful manner, then? i think you and i must have different definitions of "speaking in a civil, peaceful manner". those are about the LAST words i would choose to describe this assh0le's attitude and behavior. the guy was making the event about him, so he was asked to leave. the way it escalated from there has absolutely jack schitt to do with "freedom of speech". There you go. I would have dragged him out of there too. Although, I'm not sure why they couldn't cuff him and drag him into a cruiser without tazing him. But, I'll leave that decision to the cops. Yukon Cornelius
He may have been a little twit, but I don't see why he was tazered. There were six cops there and one twit. Hardly seems like a reasonable use of force to arrest someone for disturbing the peace. new rules with cops .. instead of laying a hand on someone u zap them, they soil themselves and u cuff them... easy work

H8tank
So you are in favor of people being arrested for speaking in a civil, peaceful manner, then? You have not seen the whole video, the kid was there to cause trouble, he went to the mic after the Q&A was over, was asked to leave, he was shouting down the speaker, screaming, the cops asked him to leave, he became more beligerant, they grabbed his arm to escort him away, he flailed his arms and wrestled away screaming some more, more cops came, he started running around, screaming, at one point running towards kerry, who I will remind you is a sitting US Senator, they had him on the ground, he was trying as hard as he could to get up, kicked, flailing away even while cuffed. For his own physical well being/protection, and those of the officers, he needed to be shut down with non lethal force. He was. I would have preferred he be beaten with batons or kicked into subconsiousness myself. Now I hope he is charged and sent to jail. Stupid punk. Hankk
Can we get Hankk in here for a verdict on that kids outfit? Of course. That guy is a total mess - a disaster if you will. Where do I begin? 1) Godawful shirt. Appears to be some type of sports jersey with a logo and numeral on the back. Unless you are on the playing field (or perhaps at the bar after leaving the playing field with a bunch of people similarly attired) DO NOT WEAR A SPORTS JERSEY IN PUBLIC. 2) Said shirt is untucked. While it likely "should" be untucked, it looks sloppy. 3) Wearing shorts to an event at which a senator is speaking is inappropriate. Wearing shorts of that length is ridiculous no matter where you are if you are 16 years of age or older. You probably want to stay away from shorts (although I make some accomodations in hot weather climes. Some.) 4) White gym shoes should be worn at the gym or perhaps while working around the house or the like. You look like a clown almost anyplace else. The guy deserved to be electrocuted.
