msaint
As a Pats fan :D Reluctantly, but I can't help it, as a Maroney owner who just traded for him last week thinking that Morris might be worse off than they're saying/out for year

Maroney hasnt done anything this year. Morris played better than him in games he was healthy in. Me thinks Maroney isnt the hyped up player we all thought he was. HES NOT WHO WE THOUGHT HE WAS!!! Bill Swerski
Well, NE can't stand pat (no pun intended) with Moraney, who is never healthy. Do they try to coax Dillon out of retirement, in hopes that he'll be in playing shape by January?
CaptainHook
I wold say this bumps Kevin Faulk up more than it does Maroney. . .
JoJoTheWebToedBoy
Damm... I've been riding the Morris, Watson train in my work league. Looks like it has finally reached the station and I'm going to have to start relying on Green and Dayne. I am doomed.....
Bill Swerski
I wold say this bumps Kevin Faulk up more than it does Maroney. . . I'm not sure that they use Faulk much on first or second down from here on out. I think that they'll bring up somebody from the practice squad or sign another FA instead. I am doomed..... cry me a river cause i am right there with you except that my 2 starting RBs were Ronnie Brown and Caddy.....that got me down to Morris....Now I am left with Faulk...my team was 6-0 the week Brown got injured...i lost that game and last week too....was the highest scoring team at that point and now will be lucky to make the playoffs
piratesownninjas
Lets be honest dude... Maroney hasnt done anything this year. Morris played better than him in games he was healthy in. Me thinks Maroney isnt the hyped up player we all thought he was. HES NOT WHO WE THOUGHT HE WAS!!! He hasn't had to do much. Look at his yards per carry... He's playing fine, he just hasn't had to run much with Brady, Welker, Moss and crew airing it out.
peepinmofo
He hasn't had to do much. Look at his yards per carry... He's playing fine, he just hasn't had to run much with Brady, Welker, Moss and crew airing it out. While that is partially true, Morris didnt seem to have a hard time getting in the endzone. I just think they were more comfortable running with Morris. Will Maroney be a good RB? Maybe. Will he be a 1st or 2nd round pick next year? No way unless he starts doing a lil something more. That said, WHEN HEALTHY, Maroney is a very talented back.
Seahawks21
Or perhaps Brady, Welker, Moss et. al are just opening up the ground game for him? That said, WHEN HEALTHY, Maroney is a very talented back. Maroney looks like S. Jackson and M. Barber. This does not mean he has their talent or heart. Their resemblence starts and stops with the hair. Don't mistake looks for results. The FACTS are, Maroney hasn't done anything. When he was given an extended chance, he still did next to nothing. He looks shy hitting the holes, lacks true burst, and doesn't consistently finish runs like he should. Put him on a worse team, he becomes Mo Morris with dreads. Cunning Runt
I hear Cunning Runt is looking for friends... You rang? I do happen to have Kevin Faulk so ya, an injury to Morris is a good thing. Not quite as good as a season-ender to Maroney would be now that Morris is down, but it'll do for now. Honestly - why does this thought process bother people so much? I don't get it. DMD
What this means is that there will be no low risk NE players. With Maroney out, Morris was a nice player to have (he was on FOUR of my teams). But Maroney will always be an injury concern and no one else will be used consistently enough to merit a fantasy start.

Ursa Majoris
Well, NE can't stand pat (no pun intended) with Moraney, who is never healthy. Do they try to coax Dillon out of retirement, in hopes that he'll be in playing shape by January? Having dragged Dillon's moldering corpse around on two of my fantasy squads just on the off chance that he'll make a comeback, I had to cut him on one this week. All of this means he will show up on Sunday an hour before KO, suit up and run for 200 yards with 3 TDs.

But Maroney will always be an injury concern and no one else will be used consistently enough to merit a fantasy start. I'm with ya here DMD.... I cut bait with Maroney for two 1st round picks in one of my dynasty leagues. He can't stay healthy, he loses GL carries to whomever, Morris, and Heath, and NE has turned into a pass happy team. I see him mired down with injuries and an RBBC situation for the foreseeable future. I figured I'd dump him now while I could still get a couple first rounders for him, before his value really plummets. NE has turned into Denver as far as dynasty RB's go. If it isn't RBBC, it's an injury, or who the HC loves the most that week, or that year. So long Maroney, you did squat for my dynasty team.
