They know they freak us out and that doesn't bother them, usually. I had a Jewish friend in college and I told him something like "happy Hanukkah, I have no idea what else to tell you, you are a Jew and that freaks me out". If he is a good person as most Jews I have ever known are I would tell him "you are my client and I wish to give you a present for Hanukkah but I don't know how to go about it, what should I do?". i know my shtick doesn't work for everyone so take it with a grain of salt. Give him cash and he'll be set for an hour -- get him a sqeeeqie and he'll be set for life ... As for a Hanukkah gift, some token that you were tuned in would likely be nice ... just be tuned in ... Jewish FAQ on the holiday will give you some insight into what's going on for you client ... and here's a Guide to Gifts ... I went with "made you a card" for a Jewish friend -- wishing the holiday put the "oy" in "enjoy" for she and her family ... Went over well for that family.
