skylive5
It's a bummer when one discovers they are no longer 17. Good luck with the operation and when you are in rehab remember to keep coming back here to get a lift in spirits.

SheikYerbuti
Elton Brand of the Clippers suffered a ruptured Achilles before the season started and he's already dunking in practice. It's amazing the work they can do on such injuries. You'll be back on the field by training camp for sure!! Best of luck!

irish
Ooofa! Good luck with that. I feel for you. During a football game early in the season, a buddy of mine tore his ACL and did nerve damage to his foot. All he did was jump for a ball that was a bit to high and came down the wrong way. It didn't even look all that bad when it happened, maybe a little odd but not bad. I thought he might've twisted an ankle. After it happened his brother was actually telling him to stop being a wuss about it and just walk it off. Turns out, after going to see 4 or 5 specialists, that he has zero activity in the nerve and the doctors aren't sure of what course of action to take. He walks with a brace and has a pretty bad limp. He limps because he can't even lift is foot. It just dangles when he lifts his leg. The guy can't even walk normally, let alone run, roller blade, or play almost any aport for that matter now. The saddest part is he was an unbelieveable track star, breaking all kinds of records throughout HS. Running was his life and the thing he always felt confident about and it's over. So, as you said, even though what happened to you was painful and certainly the surgery and long rehab afterward won't be any fun, you should be fine or at least close to it when all is said and done. Hope sharing my story helps raise your spirits a bit.
