Savage Beatings
I think that I am one of the few people here who actually liked Sean Salisbury. I didn't always agree with his take, but I think he showed a lot of football knowledge and did a pretty decent job for ESPN. Oh well, time to move on Sean. PSULions
His budding movie career, like his role in "Benchwarmers" Seriously, I like Sean as an analyst and wouldn't be surprised to see him on the NFLN shortly.... He does a good job of breaking down plays and I may not always agree with his opinions, but he at least presents good insight and not always slanted towards the player spin that many other former players have... Analysts who don't work as hard as me, don't prepare as hard as me, and don't have my resume were making more than me just because of their ability to throw or catch a football." The Irish Doggy
I changed the channel any time Salisbury was on. I can't stand being yelled at through the TV.

For a guy who SUCKED as a player, he sure had a smug attitude. its because he wanted to become a lawayer , and he was nervous about taking the bar exam for quite some time Sean also is an avid fantasy player of all sports including fantasy basbeall unfortunately he has a hard time trusting people especially crooked league commisioners
myhousekey
From PFT POSTED 10:42 p.m. EST, February 26, 2008 ESPN PUTS THE STAKE IN SALISBURY As you likely already know, Sean Salisbury is out at ESPN. (I was out of pocket when the e-mail from ESPN announcing the departure came through the line.) The move was, in our view, long overdue. Per USA Today, Salisbury's contract had expired. He likely sealed his fate with that disgraceful on-air dissing of John Clayton last month, during which Salisbury called Clayton the "Cryptkeeper." As regular visitors to this site know, we don't care much for Salisbury. He's loud, he's a jerk, and far too often he speaks in sweeping absolutes. Also, he reportedly was suspended for showing cell-phone photos of his penis to colleagues at the network. Frankly, we're surprised he lasted there as long as he did. True to form, Salisbury is crowing about his departure. "I have grown as much as I can at ESPN and decided to expand my horizons," Salisbury said in a statement. "I have created a brand and it's time to expand into other opportunities in TV, radio, Internet, publishing, movies and public speaking, among others. My resume speaks for itself as a football analyst, and I believe I can talk all sports with the best of them." Hey, Sean -- a periodic cameo in an Adam Sandler flick doesn't make you an actor. A web site that looks like crap and that rarely was updated before it went off line won't turn you into an Internet mogul. Publishing? Please. (Unless, of course, you've got a proposal for "Cell Phone Porn for Dummies.") Sean Salisbury needed ESPN far more than ESPN needed him, and unless he plans to handle weekend sports at the UPN affiliate in Tallahassee, his broadcasting career is officially over. MojoMan
The Szabe was talking about this. I thought he was knowledgable but his attitude was writing checks his career couldn't cash.
Hat Trick
You must love Steven A. Smith then! If we could just get rid of him next I'd be thrilled. Do people actually listen to him scream at them through the radio airwaves too?
Vote Quimby2
didn't he get in trouble earlier in the year for flashing his pecker or something on a camera phone? i can't remember.
MikesVikes
I agree that Steven A. Smith should go before Salisbury does. I don't care what he takes pictures of as long as I don't have to see it.
fingfootball
Remember that interview he did with TO after the "sharpie incident". Does anyone know where to find that one?
rebdog
excellent move. the guy's a tool. just because you talk like you know something doesn't mean you do. he was a good CFL QB, and a bad on-air personality. don't let the door hit you. irish
Also, he reportedly was suspended for showing cell-phone photos of his penis to colleagues at the network. Alright, well that's pretty gross and pathetic. I wasn't aware of this little tidbit. Why in the world would you be showing other colleagues your twig and berries? Do people actually listen to him scream at them through the radio airwaves too? I often get into my car during the Steven A. Smith show on ESPN radio. If I make it to the bottom of the driveway before changing stations, it's a good day for him.

Sarcasm or not, from what you posted it was unclear whether or not you knew that SAS did, in fact, play college basketball. Dude was decimated by injury and was, by admission, a rather average player. But at the guy at least has some experience in the game. More than me, you, or anyone else here.
