Robash
so where did you get that figure Polk? 60k and hour for the 747, i cant imagine why they would have it in the air for 4 hours just for a photo.
Clubfoothead
That seems rather inexpensive.
Perchoutofwater
That seems rather inexpensive. See I just don't get it club. I know you like the guy, but you used to rail about government spending. Now when Obama is spending more than anyone in the history of the world you don't seem to care. This is just disgusting.

bushwacked
That seems rather inexpensive. Compared to playing dress up and hanging banners on an aircraft carrier, it was.

CaP'N GRuNGe
The guy responsible: Caldera, 53, a graduate of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point and a lawyer, was secretary of the Army during the Clinton administration and previously was a state legislator in California. You'd think a graduate of West Point would have a little more common sense.

I would imagine a few rather stupid heads will roll on it. like I said in another thread as soon as this happened, some schmuck will be sent forward to fall on their sword for this one. although for this administration, in this media climate, "falling on their sword" probably just means coming forward and saying "sorry "
TimC
I'm trying to think this through. Why would you start running? I mean the plane is flying overhead at a couple of hundred feet. Where are you going to run to??? The chances of it simply dropping out of the sky on top of you are nothing and you're not going to outrun it. It's not like it was nose-diving straight towards the Earth.

H8tank
I love me some credible people. Louis Caldera, director of the White House Military Office, apologizes to the city of New York. Caldera came to the White House from IndyMac, where he served on the board of directors from 2002 until the bank was seized by the feds last year. IndyMac is under investigation for fraud. That's some crackerjack oversight from the corporate governance committee. The Obama transition team left Caldera's IndyMac service off the press release announcing his appointment. Honesty, not needed in this whitehouse.
i_am_the_swammi
Who hired or appointed these rather stupid head? As if I wasn't already concerned with the people Obama trusts and surrounds himself with. Yes, the previous administration only hired those with sound judgement. Like those that told our tremendous leader a certain country had WMD.

Now when Obama is spending more than anyone in the history of the world you don't seem to care. This is just disgusting. Well that makes no sense. First, my comment was that $300,000.00 doesn't seem like a lot of money to fly a jet that big to NYC from anywhere with F-16 escorts. And I assume that also includes the costs of taking the photos, compensation of the people involved and it probably involved some aerial photography with nice cameras and $hit. And people claim I'm quick to make things political. Second, you are confused. More than usual. I've always thought the money spent on the Iraq war could be better spent in America. I'm like a socialist, dude.
AtomicCEO
This has got to be the worst government abuse since the illegal unconstitutional secret covered-up wiretapping of it's own citizens. Perchoutofwater
We should ignore this and all money that is wasted under the current administration. If anyone brings up any questionable activity we should either , question the source, or call the person racist or an right wing nut job. What ever we do we shouldn't really discuss the issue at hand. As a last resort if we get painted into a corner, we should either ignore posts all together, or bring up transgressions of the previous administration.
