rajncajn
Maybe not the best bands, but one's that you really wish they would have made more music. Off the top of my head: Smashing Pumpkins Blind Melon Sublime

gilthorp
REM, because who they are today is nothing to what they were a long time ago. Others would be: House of Love Sugar The Bears The Jayhawks Many others I'm sure...

BeeR
The Beatles. Can't help but wonder what they would've come up with if they stayed together (and not wanting to kill each other).

darin3
I was a HUGH Sublime fan, and actually was at their second-to-last show with Bradley Knowell. They had stopped in Santa Barbara on their way up to San Francisco to play a - of all things - fraternity party. I wasn't in that particular fraternity, but knew someone who was and kinda jived my way into their house to see the show. Sure glad I did that. Bradley OD'ed the next night after playing the Fillmore in SF. So yeah, I would have to say Sublime is my choice for this thread. I absolutely loved - and still do - the mix of punk, reggae, ska and pop.
