SheikYerbuti
La Rosita (R.I.P.) in Manhattan served an Oxtail Stew (Rabo Guisado if you want to impress the waitress, and don't forget to roll the R) once a week on the specials menu. Pure HEAVEN. Â Other than that, hard to argue with a good Lobster Bisque.
untateve
my wife's turkey soup that she makes after thanksgiving. She makes turkey stock from scratch and uses some of the leftover smoked turkey and fried turkey. It's so good it makes me cry.

twiley
file? I usually exclude the File in my seafood gumbo. It's already thick enough and the flavor never did much for me.
Seattle LawDawg
file? Â I use File' because I don't use Okra.
Azazello1313
ya know, the word "gumbo" actually MEANS "okra" in whatever african dialect it comes from. so you could argue, if it doesn't have okra it's not gumbo. i won't go that far, but personally i do greatly prefer okra gumbo to file gumbo.
