Cunning Runt
Get Shorty. Gotta be top 5 in my book. Subtle but very funny humor start to finish.
BeeR
- dirty rotten scoundrels Excellent call.  - dead poets society- parenthood  My general impression is that these did well/are highly thought of.  In the quirky category I'd add Buckaroo Banzai.  I think I would also add Fletch. I think did it OK and people tended to more or less like it, but IMO this was Chase's best work ever (hon mention to Caddyshack). Plenty of stupid but fun quotables there.  Oh how could I forget: Slingblade. mm-hmm.
Skilly
Cube  +1 I was scrolling through this thread to see if anyone had posted "CUBE". Great sci-fi / horror flick.  A few others that come to mind:  Falling Down Ballroom Dancing Requiem for a Dream Happy Gillmore (people like to dog on Adam Sandler movies, but this is just a solid, funny movie IMO)
Skilly
I don't remember who said Cube, but you are now my sworn enemy. Worst. movie. ever. Â Â There are plenty of movies out there worse than CUBE. Charlies Angels 2: Full Throttle? Any Dane Cook movie? Pick one.
detlef
"The Man Who Would Be King" comes to mind. Not sure how a movie considered by many to be an all-time classic makes this list but I'm certainly not going to argue against it being great. Â In fact, I'm a bit puzzled by the criteria here considering some of the other titles mentioned as well. Â For starters, I need to see Suicide Kings again. I remember really digging it. Â Does Galipoli count as underrated?

TheShiznit
Movie most maybe have not seen that was actually popular and not underrated is : Ordinary People  couple of movies I felt have been underrated by popularity was Good Will Hunting...if memory serves it didn't do too well at the box office...but I could be wrong. Resevoir Dogs was awesome.  Please don't shoot me, but for anyone who has actually loved someone, PS I love You...I think that is what it is called....is pretty darn good life story.  Remember the Titans Armageddon Crimson Tide Pelican Brief The Firm Any of the Oceans movies  All the above have not received near enough acclaim...but just my initial list...could post all day on this. rocknrobn26
"Night of the Comet" was definitely an era film (Valley Girls) but worth a watch. "House of Games" starring an old Cicero boy Joe Mantegna. Depressing (spoiler), but a good watch. Someone mentioned "Parenthood"....YES! Every married couple should be forced to watch this, prior to having children. ALL families are somewhat dysfunctional. Great stuff in that movie. Cunning Runt
The Mothman Prophecies  Absolutely. For those that haven't seen it, I highly recommend this one. And supposedly based on some actual events. Not sure if I quite believe that, but a very good flick either way. I think I'm gonna track it down and watch it again soon.
