I'll keep her in my thoughts.

Should not be a big deal, though. They performed this operation on my then 2 yo about 8 months ago and she was running around like an idiot the next day (there was no change from the usual, in case the "running around like an idiot" thing threw you off.

Nothing life threatening, she is going in to have her tonsil and adenoids removed because, at 6 years old, she has sleep apnea and has been stopping breathing at points through the night. They believe this will help out and kind of rushed us in. But, with her and how her FXS affects her, she has significant anxiety attacks and panic attacks and has been freaking out. As for me, even though this is being done at Duke and their doctors are amazing to say the least, I find it very hard to turn over my kid to a bunch of strangers to wheel off and cut in to - especially when she will be crying and freaking out. I would like to ask if you all could find the time to include Riley in your thoughts and prayers and pray for a quick and event free tonsillectomy & adenoidectomy.

Cliaz,

While I don't know you we will say a prayer for your little girl. I have been in operating room medical monitoring since the early 90's and rest assured you are going to a great facility with a renown staff.

The technology is amazing and I assure the Anesthesiologist will take very good care of her. The agents used are very safe and she will bounce back quickly. Their monitoring technology will be first rate and she won't remember a thing.

The procedure itself is pretty quick and pretty simple as those surgeons are experts as they do these type of procedures as easily as we would change a car tire. No doubt she will be sore for a period but her airway will improve significantly post procedure.

Hang in there, she will come thru with flying colors.
