gilthorp
My buddy and I were debating, where would he fit? H-Back, huh? Is he like a Cooley? Is he as fast as Cooley? Couldn't you get him into the D backfield somewhere? Again, probably not fast enough. I wouldn't leave Florida if I were him either...just getting screwed around with the new rookie salary considerations, but he doesn't seem like that would bother him too much. He is a gamer. Atlanta Cracker
I don't get it. He's nothing but a winner and an incredible athlete. If Flutie can make it in the NFL as a QB then Tebow can for sure. It'll be fun to watch him in college another year though.

It'll be fun to watch him in college another year though. See Vince Young. Vince was 25-1 in 2 seasons as a starter Tebow was 21-5 in 2 seasons so far as a starter. Tebow isnt as fast, nor better passer than Vince, and Vince had fewer weapons around him on offense. Vince will be a big reason teams shy away from him at the QB position early. DMD
Does this count as going to church? Tebow lived in a leper colony and his eye black tape said "John" and "3:16". I'd like to think watching the BCS bowl could be considered a substitute for going to church on Easter but I am still waiting on the ruling from my wife. Gopher
He's a Mike Alstott that can throw. One position or another, he'll find a way to play on Sundays (assuming he doesn't decide to pursue one of his more important endeavors). Hat Trick
I see many a Tim Tebow fake runs and jump passes around the goalline some day in the NFL. Heck it may just become the new thing sooner than that and replacing the wildcat
Jackass
I don't get it. He's nothing but a winner and an incredible athlete. There are thousands of players like that who didn't make it in the NFL.
godtomsatan
If he comes back and works on throwing the football, he'll move up the charts. The guy is listed at 6-2.5/238 and is obviously athletic and can take a hit. He's been a QB his whole life, I don't understand why he wouldn't stay one. I don't underestimate anything about the kid. tazinib1
There used to be this really short kid from BC that was labeled too short/small for the QB position. Had a pretty good career if I remember correctly. Edited January 12, 2009 by tazinib1
untateve
For the record, I believe he will be a successful NFL QB. He may take a few years to develop given that he is been a QB in the spread offense and not an NFL style offense. I think he has the arm strength, size, and ability to lead a team. I also think he has that "it" quality that allows him to impose his will on his team and on opposing teams. Of course, I could be wrong as I see the world through Orange and Blue glasses. Either way, I am glad he'll be in Gainesville for one more season.

I think he's probably just as fast as Cooley. Hopefully he's more Cooley than Eric Crouch. And you're right that he's certainly a gamer and did the right thing by coming back for another season. I don't get it. He's nothing but a winner and an incredible athlete. If Flutie can make it in the NFL as a QB then Tebow can for sure. Kieper actually compared him to Cooley and said he'd be a 3rd or 4th round pick I think he also mentioned Frank Wycheck, who ended up having a heck of a career at TE (or I guess "H-back") after being a RB at UofMaryland. Randall
Mike Mayock on Tebow last year "In a nutshell, I thought Vince [Young] was a winner ... I thought he was the kind of kid who made the people around him better. But I wasn't sure he was ever going to be able to pass the ball from the pocket well enough to lead an NFL team to a Super Bowl. Right now, I wonder the same thing about Tebow. ... I would struggle as an NFL general manager drafting either guy [Tebow or Young] .... That's me, though. Whether it's Tebow or Young, you've got to completely retailor your offense to take advantage of what they do best. And in the event of an injury, is the next guy the same kind of guy?"
