Since they are both plus, I bet it means overall WC winner.

If not I need to change sportsbooks.

Not necessarily. And no, it was the Spain/Germany game I was looking at on sportsbook.com.

Germany was +175 to win vs. Spain.

Spain was +145 to win vs. Germany.

Not having Mueller for this match sucks for the Germans, but his replacement is actually better suited to attack the Spanish defense. The guys in the back for Spain are locking down on Klose and Podolski, making Mueller's replacement - Trachowski (sp.?) an important cog in the attack. He can really blast it from long range. With Klose/Podolski locked up, those deep shots are necessary.

Why wouldn't playing both evenly (for example, $100 each) be a guaranteed winner?

Germany wins, you are +175 on Germany and -100 on Spain for a net of +75.

Spain wins, you are +145 on Spain and -100 on Germany for a net of +45.

Of course you have to also cover the vig on both bets but I don't think it is 20%?

If you do both evenly you will give $200 to get $175 (loss of $25) if Germany wins or give $200 to get $145 (loss of $55) if Spain wins. You are a loser if you play both evenly.

OK I thought it was like a baseball line, where one team might be +110 and the other team might be +85. Where if you win you keep your original $100 and win either $110 or $85 depending which team you bet.

I thought Germany played tight, meaning nervously. They didn't challenge Spain enough, and when you let Spain control the ball that much, they will get one in the net eventually. Germany is young. They should be even better in 4 years.

Forlan was great this past month...

That was a great game...hopefully tomorrow will match it

Neither team today really had anything to lose so they played wide open. I think is either Spain or NED gets a goal in early, it will loosen things up. Otherwise, I expect a defensive battle.

I was hoping for an early goal in the Spain vs Germany game...that game had so much potential....ended up being Spain shutting everything down...

Who does Spain think they are, Italy?
