NAUgrad
Okay so my 12 year old daugher is supposed to go to a Halloween party this Saturday night. Would you let a 12 year old go to a Halloween party? I'll add more information a little bit later to see if you change your mind.
Perchoutofwater
Who is giving the party, and what kind of supervision will be at the party? Where is the party located?
Big Country
Too little information to make an informed decision. Generally, I'd say yes, assuming it is a party that will generally be of people of her own age with parental supervision. Otherwise, would need additional details to make a decision. Bier Meister
pending additional details, i don't think i'd have a prob with her going to a party. factors that might alter my opinion: - parental supervision - time it ends (if not an overnight) - if an overnight...no boys stay over!!! - location - crowd attending
bpwallace49
I occasionally watch "Law and Order: Special Victims Unit" so my answer is NO WAY IN HELL!!!!!

yo mama
When I was that age I always appreciated when parents let their daughters go the parties.
smithkt
There is nowhere near enough information to answer this question. As others have said, it depends entirely on the age group of the rest of the party goers, supervision, where the party is taking place, etc.
AtomicCEO
No more than 3 beers, and she has to be home by 2am.
NAUgrad
Okay, more information, but just a little at a time. It will be with a group of kids from church and will be at another girls house. They are all in middle school. Does this change your mind any? MrTed46
Man I just read some crazy poopy on CNN, I wouldnt let my kids go anywhere until I calm down. Hey Sailor! New in town??? is wrong with the world. But after I calm down and based on the current information you supplies, YES, I would.
smithkt
What is the point in trickling the information out like this? A good parent isn't going to agree to let a kid go to a party unless they have all the facts. So until they are all provided, my answer would still be "it depends". Duchess Jack
12? A group of kids from church? If you've talked to the parents (who I am expecting will be there) and trust the parents and trust your daughter, then it all sounds pretty harmless to me. Okay here's a little more VITAL info. There will be 2 girls and 2 boys at the party. That's it. Not sure what the parents have planned yet. The boys will come over for a couple hours then go home, but my daughter is to spend the night. I haven't talked with the parents yet, but I'm going to today. I already have formed an opinion now what do you think? Edited October 28, 2009 by NAUgrad
Ursa Majoris
Hmmmm. Depends on the supervision, methinks, but I'd be inclined to let her go with a request not to let me down. This worked for me when my kid was that age.

I would NOT let them spend the night.
Duchess Jack
I haven't talked with the parents yet, but I'm going to today. How can you possibly even consider a yes without this. There are things that might require a 'no' without talking to the parents - but a 'yes' should never come before talking to the parents. As for as those automatic 'no' items - the two boys two girls thing could be one of them - but this all boils down to who your daughter is and what she is capable of. Do you trust her to do the right things when being supervised by parents that you have talked to and have expressed your concerns to? They are all in middle school. Does this change your mind any? As a parent, with the information given, absolutely not. But that's not to say I wouldn't let my daughter go. My 9 year old just went to a Halloween party at a friends house recently & I had no problem with it whatsoever because we knew the parents, knew they would be supervised & knew they would not be leaving to go anywhere else. You can't really expect anyone to answer this question without giving all the details.
i_am_the_swammi
four kids from a church group getting together for a night hanging out? no problem, again, as long as the parents are home and occasionally check on them.
