The business I ran for several years had a cadillac version of this "forced pair" assessment. Actually gave you a read on 33 behaviors and translated them into 12 competencies--it was very cool--but that was the problem, it was so cool, and not very strategic for many companies. I've tested each member of my family and each person I work with. Once you learn a person's style and preferences (needs), you can adjust your communication style to be more effective.
