I did'nt understand it either. You go for it on 4th and 10 but punt on 4th and 15???? But, I'm sure glad they decided to..
Sgt. Ryan
Ive seen this in a few threads already..Do you agree with the call to punt there ? I thought it was an awful call.. nope, they shoudl have known their D was gassed and couldnt get the ball back. If it werent for the gift fumble by Bush, they would have never seen the ball again and lost this game 34-24. So you can thank Bush it was as close as it was. Chavez
No. You're a bit deep in your own territory, but I think with the time remaining and the way your defense has been playing, you've gotta take your shot there.

whomper
4th and 15 certainly isnt an easy task but that late in the game you have to take your chances..

Seahawk37
That false start lost them the game.
godtomsatan
I would have gone for it. Stop them with an FG, and you still are within a score. Bad, bad call. Edited January 14, 2007 by godtomsatan
Zooty
If we still had Freddie Mitchell, Reid would have gone for it
Jackass
it makes no sense on any level. This guy's supposed to be at the top of his profession and he makes a decision that 99 out of 100 fans could see could only be made by someone who is legally retarded. jackshi17
They had 2 time outs and the two minute warning to stop the clock. It was a good decision.

Seahawk37
What Reid should have done was run run run when they were 1 yard short of a first down on the 3 yard line instead they run (short or no gain) pass (lose 2 yards) Feild Goal. which made it 24-27. If they would have ran they could have either made the first or gone for it on 4th. Reid choked on that decision. This was with about 8 minutes to go but never the less dumb decision. Ursa Majoris
nope, they shoudl have known their D was gassed and couldnt get the ball back. If it werent for the gift fumble by Bush, they would have never seen the ball again and lost this game 34-24. So you can thank Bush it was as close as it was. Not so much Bush as a lousy play call. A pitch back from the QB at that time in that situation was a poor choice, IMO.
Skilly
Because it was inside 2 minutes, no, you have to go for it there. It was the wrong call to make.
'canes2004
They had 2 time outs and the two minute warning to stop the clock. It was a good decision. They only had the 2 timeouts and the Saints were running it down their gullet at 5-6 yards a clip. The Eagles Def was tired and pretty much done. Horrible call. bushwacked
They had 2 time outs and the two minute warning to stop the clock. It was a good decision. Negative, the 2 minute warning had passed. Going for it and giving up a field goal to NO still gives you a chance. The 4th and 15 with 1:56 left also might have been a better chance than being down by 3 with 30-40 seconds and no timeouts at your own 25 (a likely scenario if the the Philly D held the Saints to 3 and out). Reid gave his team the least probable way to win by punting. Aren't coaches supposed to be up at 3:30 in the morning going over these scenarios? Rockerbraves
Just a poor call to punt. Even if the Saints don't get the 1st Eagles might have gotten the ball back on their own 30 with maybe 50 seconds left and no time out. If they go for and don't make the first and hold the saints to no first downs they probably still get the ball back with 50 seconds by maybe on the 20 yd line instead. Simply a bad choice by the Eagles. Truth is though they weren't going to make it anyway.
bushwacked
Truth is though they weren't going to make it anyway. Yea, no way that stifling Saints pass D wasn't gonna let the Eagles into FG territory.

Jackass
Truth is though they weren't going to make it anyway. How the He!! do you know. They just completed a 15 yard pass on the play that got called back for the false start.
