Surprised there are so many votes for the Metallicrap turn to the lame-side Black Album.

 

Happily surprised to see even the inclusion of Slave to the Grind. I voted for the GnR albums, but Slave was a great album. They were a hair band that turned out a heavy album before it was apparant that the glam scene was dead.

 

I love RHCP's, but that album is weak compared to Pearl Jam Ten... how is that CD even overlooked for this list? And that crapfest VH album included?

 

Great year of music, agreed, but a hit and miss list of choices.

Yikes. The sound of Anthony Keidis trying to sing melodically makes my hair stand on end... but of that group, that's the album that has the most range and interest on it. I have taken John Frusciante is my personal savior.

The Chili Peppers album was the only one that is worth a damn to me. I can't stand anything Nirvana, sans Dave Grohel, and the rest of the stuff is seriously dated.

I concur. Except for Nirvana, all of the other albums aren't even the best by the respective artist. As such, how can you claim that '91 was the last great year in music?
