:D

 Would it be weird if my pants were tight? :wait:

We slept like babies last night which is good. We woke up to the first limb hitting the car port roof. It hasn't rained too much and the wind is starting to pick up a bit. Today will be the day though...and tonight where the damage will come. Stay safe SLAYER...

I just moved a HUGH branch that fell by my master bathroom. It could have easily stabbed right through the roof and caused major water damage in the ceiling. It missed my house by 2' to 3'. It was stabbed in the ground. I am starting to think about maybe getting the trees taken down after this storm...so I can sleep better at night during these storms. Reports now are saying the storm is jogging a bit more West down the coast line which could reduce the expoected wind and rain for us in Baton Rouge. However...currently it is windy (35 ish) and raining...no flooding.

anotha tbimm UPDATE

Just got off the phone with him not too long ago. I know it's late, but a brotha just got off work. We talked for about 10 minutes, and he seems to be in pretty good shape. As most of you know I have tons of family down there, and all but a small hand-full of them have taken the high road. The ones that are still there are a little further north, and he assures me they should be fine. He also assured me that he will be okay as well. He informed me that the media is playing this a little and not to worry. It's hard not to worry, I know. But I have faith that he, along with the few that have decided to stay, have taken the proper measures, and should come out okay.

We can only pray for that to happen.

another tbimm update

Just talked to him again. All is good his hood. No power but he was able to call still. More details to come...I'm typing on an I-phone And I am about to rip my hair out.

:D

I'll keep y'all posted

Hopefully he'll get his power back soon after the storm...but that Huddler generator should come in real handy if it doesn't.

Getting a bit breezy outside. I'll be heading out for my parents' house shortly. My old man has a storm-proof fortress. We should be good there. My house should be fine structurally, but I'm not looking forward to the neighborhood damage. Lots of old hardwood trees and they're talking about sick rainfall totals here as the storm slows. I'll check in as I can through the day, but my parents have satellite internet which can be spotty at best. Any prayers, thoughts and good vibes that you cats have lying around can be sent to SW La. Thanks in advance. :D

Edit to add: I haven't taken my shirt off Golding-style in defiance...yet.

Hey gang all's well here. My wonderful 5 bar AT&T phone service is out, but my electricity is still on. hardly any rain anymore, but very windy 30-45steady gusts to 55-60. Things pretty tame here in Metairie.
