This does not make me happy. But since the voice of the American people is drowned out by the voice of American corporations, I guess what I think really doesn't matter.

I'm still not sure if it was the bail out was the right thing to do. I'm not saying it is wrong, I'm just not sure it is right either. On one hand I hate all government intervention, and feel that a lot of the mess we are are in now is because of government intervention with Fannie and Fredddie. On the other hand, if this actually works, which is still a big if, it could end up saving us all a lot of money in the long term. If it fails it will cost us all a lot more money than it would have if we would have just let nature run it's course. Frankly I don't pretend to be knowlegable enough in this area to know if it will work or just delay the inevitable.

I know that I am disgusted with all the politicians that voted for this bill both in the house and the senate, for allowing pork to be added to it. Those that added the pork should be outed so the whole nation knows who they are.

I agree. this is ridiculous...this is only a short term fix. Our economy is F*cked!

Not really. We'll continue to print dollars until they have no value. Then our debt and deficit spending will be meaningless.

700,000,000,000 dollars = 1 Yuan

And if we address the problem of border security, we won't have to worry about all of the Yuans that are sneaking into the country.

Oh, "Juan's"???

Nevermind.

I'm not smart enough to know if this inevitable measure was the right move or not. From my philosophical perspective, it sucks a big fat one.

I'm in agreement with you. For some reason, I am of the opinion that the only way the American people are EVER going to learn anything, is if they go through the consequences along with the companies that are enablers of questionable business practices. The federal government is just way overstepping its intended use, and not for the better, in my opinion. They are the ultimate enablers.

Basically they screamed the Sky is Falling and stole $700 billion from taxpayers. The rest is just complicated.
