A very embarrassing joke. I feel bad for the players who are being questioned about it in every interview. Sanchez "slipped" and called it "embarrassing for Ryan" yesterday. Today he just said it was a personal matter of Ryan's. He was then asked how it might affect the team. The questions just kept coming. Of course he said the players will support Rex. What else could he say? A head coach, even one like Ryan should not be putting his players in such situations. I also wonder if he lost some respect from them along the way. Here is Ryan always preaching to his players about using good judgement and staying out of trouble. Now he is an NFL joke. And to the Phish fan... you want me to be all kinds of upset about the "wall"? Something almost every team in the NFL does in one fashion or another? Why, pray tell? I don't have the links, but look and you will find them. He goes on to describe his wife's... er... anatomy, and says they are looking for bondage, humiliation and, well, you get the idea. The tapes were apparently from his time at Baltimore. I'd have posted this in the tailgate, but I think the NFL might think that the conduct policies have been violated here, I would not be surpised to see even a suspension and Ryan would deserve it for such stupidity. I have always defended this idiot, and that's what he is, but no more. As far as I am concerned, this is the most embarrassing moment in history for the Jets franchise. The man is a complete idiot. Lots of people, youo included, are making a huge, illogical assumption with regard to the profiles and the connection to the videos. Anyone can go in to a swingers or foot fetish site and create a profile that resembles someone else, including geographic location and physical appearance. As we've been told via Deadspin, Michelle garnered quite a following on youtube and her "fans" were puzzled at her disappearance, asking where to find her. It is certainly possible that an obssessed fan went in and created that profile. One thing is clear, Rex adores his wife and she adores him, so I am suspicious of anything that suggests that Rex is into degrading her, as most would think that the profile is highly degrading. In addition, both Rex and Michelle are educated and I am sure they know how to spell the word "blonde" (spelled "blounde" in the profile). Frankly, that profile does not pass the "smell test" (no pun intended). Simply, it is a huge leap in logic for anyone to assume that the existence of the Michelle foot videos confirms the authenticity of the website profile. One could easily have given rise to the creation of the other by a third party. Finally, on the swingers website (different from the foot fetish website) the man is listed as 180 lbs, 5' 10", but the woman is listed as 5'1" 98 lbs. 180lbs? Makes no sense. Unless of course it were created by an obssessed Michelle fan who was merely guessing at the husbands height and weight and picked something "average". Really Rovers... get a grip. He adores her and would not do that. Both Rex and Michelle are college educated and Michelle has a masters and was an English teacher. Yet the profile calls her a "blounde". Yes I'm sure Rex does not know how to spell "blonde". Especially since his wife is blonde. No way does Woody Johnson fire Rex over this. Rex has a strong toe-hold in being the Jets HC. After hearing about this and watching the video, I like Rex Ryan even more. The guy is REAL. Not some robot like other coaches out there. Good for him if he wants to get freaky with his wife. So he'll have to withstand a few feet jokes, not a big deal for a guy who gets blasted with FAT jokes every day of his life. This story is nothing but filler for a slow day of sports news in NY. Can't wait to see what happens next week.
