darin3
Selly, I thank you for your support. 1491414 One of my favorites, too. I think it's starting to ease out of the "underrated" category. I see y'all have listed plenty of good, solid, underrated flicks that you're quick to point out... but how about those flicks that YOU like that make ya to admit to? DMD
For some reason, I really enjoyed some off-beat movies with Jim Carrey Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind Bruce Almighty The Majestic The Truman Show and I don't normally really like Carrey. Princess Bride is looking like it has a few Huddler fans. And really liked 30 First Dates, too.

TDFFFreak
"The Patriot" with Mel Gibson. Most critics panned it, but I'm not ashamed to say I liked it. I enjoyed "Hitch" with Will Smith. (My wife made me see it.) 1491116 I agree with both of these choices. And Kingpin. Funny flick. rhino4ever
My favorite of the underrated is City of Joy w/ Swayze as a doc in India's slums. I also really like The Quiet Man w/ John Wayne and Maureen O'Hara. My favorite movie all time is a bit underrated as well. In Harm's Way w/ John Wayne. My movie is 13 going on 30. Something about Jennifer Garner.

The Misfit
Ishtar may be my favorite comedy of all time. Seriously. It's supposed to finally come out on DVD this year. I know it has the rep of being one of the worst movies ever made ... comedy is very subjective. People who love that movie really love it, and can't understand why so many critics hated it. I would put Cable Guy in here also; another love or hate flick. I love it. :whispers: The password is Nipple, Nipple.

Easy n Dirty
Go!Johnny Suede Tremors Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid Kung Fu Hustle 1491619 Great call on Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid, I loved that flick. Not sure if you can really call Princess Bride "underrated", it does have a certain cult-like following to it. Love Selly's avatar, Wallace Shawn was great in that movie. And I see Short Circuit has gotten mention in both this thread and in the overrated thread. Not sure it belongs in either though - I didn't think it got enough buzz to qualify as overrated, and with the Ally Sheedy/Steve Guttenberg pairing, how underrated could it be? Chavez
"The Patriot" with Mel Gibson. Most critics panned it, but I'm not ashamed to say I liked it. 1491116 Odd, because you should be ashamed to like it.
Chavez
Dogsoldiers (Great werewolf flick) Ginger Snaps (Great werewolf flick) 1491123 :D Both VERY well done. Plus the jailbait in Ginger Snaps is pretty hot.
Chavez
U-Turn w/ Sean Penn, Billy Bob Thornton, Juaqin Phoenix, Claire Danes, Jennifer Lopez - funny funny stuff. 1491246 Eh; Stone got too artsy-fartsy with the direction - if it had been more straightforward, it would have improved the movie tremendously. If you liked U-Turn though, you should check out Red Rock West with Nicholas Cage - similar but less wankery.
Chavez
how about those flicks that YOU like that make ya :D to admit to? 1491431 Hmmm... godtomsatan
Dark City- Strange Futuristic Noire Sci Fi Brilliant flick. One of the best sci-fi movies ever Exorsist III- creepy and some of the most memorable scenes from a horror flick Stars George C. Scott. The man takes the material he's given and has a blast with it. Two mesmerizing speeches, one about a fish his wife has at home she's going to cook, and another about being an aging detective (that could have just as easily been about being an aging actor, and probably was....). He should have gotten an oscar nomination. And I'm being 100% serious. Donnie Darko- cool if you like strange, twisting, mindbending plots As a teenager in the end of the 80s, I have to say that this was a really solid trip back in time, literally 1491875 Solid list, Capt.. Others off the top of my head that I watched again recently.... Minority Report My favorite Spielberg movie, my favorite Cruise movie. A Simple Plan An incredible, and gut-wrenching, story with Billy Bob and Bill Paxton as brothers who stumble on some cash. Uh.....
Big John
I will agree with Minority Report, even if it has Cruise in it. Robin Hood - Men In Tights. Often panned, but I thought it was funny.
