The Next Generation
please explain where one acquires an avatar similar to yours, twiley BTW, I was at this bar in Jersey Sat. night, the Adelphia and at like 11 o'clock, this female bartender takes off her sweater and unleashes the best set I think I have ever seen! daboz
Please explain the thought process on that. Why I traded?? At the time Vandy averaged more points than Bush... Bush sucked at the time, lost games because of him getting almost nothing, didin't trust him anymore, I had RB comming out of my A$$ but most of all I needed a kicker that week. Dallas was just starting to heat up adn I thought Vandy was going to be one of the best scoring kickers. Like I said I feel stupid but that was then & now is now,,, its funny the trade actually got me to the fist seed because a couple of weeks ago Bush helped the other team bush wack my division leader, and this week I beat him, now we're tied in standing and head to head but i have more points... Got the bye and at least a couple of hundy and maybe if I get 1st place 2K... But most of all I'm still fighting, love this game It seems to all of you a mistake, and I guess if you only look at the trade it was, but now I'm #1 seed and Bush on another team was part of what made it possible... + Bush won't hurt me now his owner is done for the year. For a 12 team leauge my team is very strong even without him. Hell I could win most games just with two positions, LT and da Bears!!! alexgaddis
Perhaps but with all the RB depth I have and the fact I wanted the player who got him to win that week and he did I don't feel like an ass of any kind. That trade got me into the playoffs... AND this Jackass is #1 seed in my $4,000 kitty leauge... SO I guess I get the last laugh. Yeah, well I am in a $300,000.00 league...its with a bunch of Arab oil guys...they know nothing about football so I should win the championship! Chavez
For those saying "But all he does is catch passes, I don't see much running", does anyone remember a RB by the name of Larry Centers? I don't think comparing Bush to a guy with 42 tds over 14 years/198 games and a 3.6 ypc avg is furthering the "non-bust" case.
Randall
We already are...his name is Brian Westbrook! That's true too. Will they draft a power back this year?
Cordo
... Right now - it's nothing more than a run of luck (and a HC who is royally screwing over his workhorse RB to stroke the over-hyped rookie, even though it's not hurting the team as far as wins/losses). Probably the single most ridiculous statement I've ever read on this board, and that's saying alot. edit to add: hmmm, may have spoken to soon, after reading some of Sarge's comments about the Saints-Cowboys game ... Well Chavez, I wasn't actually comparing him to Centers per se, just bringing up a Pro Bowl RB, whose specialty was pass catching. Bush's pass catching abilities and moves after the catch, make Centers look like he was running in quicksand. So if Centers was a Pro Bowler & he was nowhere near as good as Bush at pass catching, then I'd say there's no doubt Reggie will be a multiple Pro Bowler regardless of his rushing & I don't think any NFL Pro Bowler, qualifies as a bust. That's where I was going with bringing up Centers.
Cordo
All evidence in the past 2 weeks to the contrary, I suppose? Can you pay attention to more than just two games? Actually, since Deuce had plenty of carries & opportunities in the red zone last night, can you pay attention to more than just one game? BB, I really hope you're just fishing because you are really making yourself look silly right now. You have absolutely no basis whatsoever to any of your arguments. So far you've been proven wrong at every turn on the subject matter. I think you ought to just sit out of the conversation for the next few weeks and pray that Bush falls off the earth and/or Deuce somehow has a complete change of heart & somehow turns into TO. In case any one cares: Over the past 2 weeks (vs SF and at Dal), the Saints have had 7 running plays from the opponents 5 yd line or closer. McAllister had 5 of those, Bush and Karney 1 each. And the one carry Bush got was after he had a 14 yd catch and run down to the 1 yd line, dragging 2 tacklers with him, and just missing getting in end zone. Went back 3 more weeks (at Pitt, vs Cinc, at Atl): in those games, there were 7 more running plays from the 5 or closer: McAllister had 6 of those, Bush 1. So over the past 5 weeks, McAllister has had 11 carries from the 5 or closer, Bush has had 2, and Karney 1.

Let's give Billy the benefit of the doubt here. Maybe he picked Bush over LT & LJ and that's why he still considers him a bust?
Avernus
That's true too. Will they draft a power back this year? I think they'll let tapeh be the power back/FB... but they look at Westy as an every down back

That's where I was going with bringing up Centers. But as mentioned above, Centers was a FB - the selection process for FB is much different than that of RB. If you want to pimp a guy on the basis of strictly pass-catching, the apples-to-apples comparison at this point would be more along the lines of Amp Lee (though I think in the end Bush will be closest to Westbrook). If you want to pimp a guy on the basis of strictly pass-catching, the apples-to-apples comparison at this point would be more along the lines of Amp Lee (though I think in the end Bush will be closest to Westbrook). Actually, it depends on which team Centers was playing on, as to whether he was listed as a FB, RB or even HB. But even on the Cards, where he was listed as a FB, at 215 lbs he very, very, very rarely played the traditional FB role of lead blocker. He was always their pass catching back. And it's not that I'm wanting to pimp Bush as only a pass catching back, it's just that is what his main role with the Saints is, at this moment of his career anyway and the closest example of a RB pass catching back specialist that was also a Pro Bowler, is Centers. At least that's who immediately came to my mind.

Ask & ye shall recieve Chavez; RUSHING ATT YDS TD LG R. Bush 20 126 1 18 & of course his recieving; RECEIVING REC YDS TD LG R. Yes, I'm happy abuot it! c'mon...this week you are. but what about last week? And what about most of those other weeks when he didn't score 30 points? If it wasn't for 3 of the last 4 weeks of the season where would he be? And last week, the NO offense no-show did me in, so yeah, it's sour grapes but he clearly wasn't worth an every week start. The Saints are learning how to use him and he is learning how to use his blockers. In PPR leagues he has done real well.
Red Barons
Depends on what type of league. If you drafted him in a non-keeper league situation he probably went in the later rounds and was a backup RB to your 1st and 2nd rounders. Unless Deuce got hurt, you couldnt expect too much from him. He went 1st in my keeper league draft and I still think its a great pick that will pay off in the next few years.

Bush 2 23 0 15 A good rushing game to go with his good receiving numbers. He's coming around. Hopefully this portends big things for NEXT year. I have said in this thread that the expectations were unfairly high for him, which was not his fault.
