Bier Meister
list as many as you like... these days, my favorite includes bernaise and thin, crispy onion rings. - bacon, bbq, cheddar - swiss, mushrooms - teriyaki, pineapple - grilled onions, thousand island - bacon, jack, ranch like em on regular buns, sourdough bread (like patty melts), sourdough rolls
darin3
I like 'em on just about any kind of bread, but I'm picky. 90% of the time, it's just cheese. I'll dip it in ketchup though. If the ketchup's on there, it makes the bun all nasty. I do like tomatoes on my burger now and then. Bacon, guacamole... also good. Never, ever, ever any kind of mustard, mayo, onion, pickle, dressing, etc.
SheikYerbuti
I'm a classic burger guy. . . Cheddar L&T Ketchup and mustard A little mayo on the bottom (toasted) bun to stop waterlogging (thank you Alton Brown for that gem) Bacon burgers are great too, but the whole meat on meat thing makes me feel a little guilty, so I usually don't do it. Furd
Assuming its good hamburger: Decent bun Lettuce Tomato Good melting cheese (American is best) One or more: ketchup/mustard/mayo/zip/house sauce You can put whatever the hell you want on a fast food burger or the equivalent. Azazello1313
i will say that pretty much any combination on the red robin menu is a homerun. i generally don't like chains but that place is the exception. those are some tasty burgers. my faves... guac, bacon, swiss santa fe (guac, poblanos, pepper jack, sauteed onion, tortilla strips) royal (bacon, american, and a f'n fried egg ) but the best burger i've had in recent memory was at ted's montana grill. buffalo burger, with bacon, american, and sauteed mushrooms and onions. wow, was that a great burger. Kid Cid
My favorite way is black and blue. BLackened burger with strong cajan spices and a strong blue cheese melted over the top. Add lettuce and tomato on a good hearty roll.
Big Country
Burger Bay at the Mandalay Bay in Vegas. They use top notch meat and high quality ingredients. A little pricey (well, you can get out of there for about $20 for a decent burger and a beer) but the burgers are well worth it. You can also spend over $60 on a burger if you go with the Kobe Beef, foie gras and truffles. Me, I like just about any burger. Not a fan of ketchup. A little mayo, bacon, cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, maybe some BBQ sauce occassionally mustard, sometimes ranch on the side for dipping, sometimes go with a guacamole burger, sometimes in the mood for cajun spiced burger. twiley
Burger Bay at the Mandalay Bay in Vegas. Might need to check this place out in Sept. I really need to eat more when I'm out there. I literally only ate 4 times the entire time.. slice of pizza, sandwich at the Orleans, hot dog at WCOFF, and a dozen raw oysters at hooters. I also ate a bowl of cotton candy at Seamless with Darin. You'd think with all that great food and wine out there I'd go crazy. As for my burgers, bleu cheese and mushrooms fried onion ring, bacon, and BBQ sauce rarely put ketchup on them anymore
chiefjay
Nice bun (preferrably toasted) American or Cheddar cheese, prob American most of the time pickles onions (raw or grilled) tomato lettuce ketchup mustard (but not as much as BK but that's not bad either) occasionally mayo Fresh off the grill is the best. Jimmy Neutron
My favorite way is black and blue. BLackened burger with strong cajan spices and a strong blue cheese melted over the top. Add lettuce and tomato on a good hearty roll. That sounds close to ideal. I also like a good bacon and sharp cheddar burger. A good mushroom and swiss is good too. Then again, if it's good beef and not over cooked - it's hard to go wrong with good ingredients. As with many things, garden fresh tomatoes make all the difference with a burger. I am now very hungry.

MojoMan
I like the Whopper, only better quality. Mayo, lettuce, tomato, ketchup, onion, pickle. A little cheese is nice. Anyone (detlef?) remember Solid Ground at Berkeley?
