Chief Dick
Not sure why they needed to score 56 today. Guess they want Favre to be on ALL the highlight reels this week.

bushwacked
Not sure why they needed to score 56 today. Guess they want Favre to be on ALL the highlight reels this week. It would have been nice if he would have hit our desperately last resort WCOFF bye week replacement/injury fill in WR Stuckey for part of the 56 points. Good thing we lost on a blind bid for Lance Moore by $3. That's okay though...we had Ronnie Brown on our bench last week.

ROYALWITCHEESE
Yes and I was on the wrong end of that Keller score. Talk about a sick feeling. You think they will run out the clock and the game will be over. Then BLAM! Favre turns Keller's goose egg into a 9 spot in the blink of an eye! Czarina
Oh sure, Arizona started putting up some points, but they were no way a serious threat to win that game. Going for it on 4th down and then for the two point conversion? Classy.

Going for it on 4th down and then for the two point conversion? Classy. I'm guessing that you're pointing this out as a Pats fan that got tired of hearing this last year. However, surely you can see the difference between a team that was able to score at will right from the outset of the season leaving it's starters in and running up the score and a team with a new QB who've been having trouble getting on track finally getting into a groove and running with it. Oh, and I'm guessing NE fans wouldn't have minded giving Cassel a few more snaps last year now?
Czarina
I don't think giving Cassel a few more snaps last year would have made that much of a difference. FWIW, I think that if your team can score, it should. It's the other team's responsibility to stop you.

Going for it on 4th down and then for the two point conversion? Classy. Did you see the game? AZ had the lead down to two scores with plenty of time left. They were converting onsides kicks. And look at the two 4th quarter AZ drives. Lightning fast. Anquan Boldin, 8 Yd pass from Kurt Warner (Neil Rackers kick is good), 9:49. Drive: 6 plays, 62 yards in 2:01. Jerheme Urban, 14 Yd pass from Kurt Warner (Neil Rackers kick is good), 4:49. Drive: 6 plays, 66 yards in 2:37. You don't take your foot off the throat of an offense that can put up points like that. Had nothing to do with rubbing it in. If you're an AZ fan, it's a compliemnt to your offense.

FWmaker
Speaking of the Jets, were any of the Jets invited to the closing ceremonies at Shea Stadium? I don't recall the Jets being able to run up the score when they played there. So far, they've only been able to run up the score in Giant's Stadium. Big John
The Titans of New York? Was that leather helmet days? That was the first year of the AFL in 1960. Leather helmets were no longer used but helmet logos were not used yet. They changed their name and colors a year later.

Square
Cassel played plenty in those "Running up the score" games last year. In 2007 Matt Cassel through for 38 yards for 0 touchdowns and 1 INT. I don't know what that playing time equals out to but it doesn't seem like a lot me. www.nfl.com/players/mattcassel/profile?id=CAS541133 Anyway, I'm just bitter that I picked up Stuckey for a one week fill in and they put up 56 points without anything going to him. Would have helped me in one league with Calvin on a bye.
