The worst QB to ever win a Super Bowl...

Joe Namath was before my time so I never really seen him play, but he was on ESPN's (I think this is where I saw it) most over-rated players. I think it was one of the top 25 series or something like that.

I'm the punky QB, known as McMahon.

When I hit the turf, I've got no plan.

I just throw my body all over the field.

I can't dance, but, I can throw the pill.

I motivate the cats, I like to tease.

I play so cool, I aim to please.

That's why you all got here on the double,

To catch me doin' the Superbowl Shuffle.

IMO it had to be Doug Williams

I have a hard time with this one. He led the Bucs to the NFC title game along with two other playoff appearances and in the SuperBowl he won with the Redskins he threw for 340 yds and 4TDs. I realize he had very good supporting casts but doesn't every QB that wins a SuperBowl.

I find the Bart Starr pick an interesting one. He is often credited with being a great player but he was really just a role player as was the majority of those Packer teams. That's what made them great. They were quite simply the most coachable, efficient team of the era...maybe ever.

Mark Rypien

I was originally thinking Rypien but after looking at his Superbowl stats (He was the MVP of the SB) and his career stats....he is way better than McMahon is all aspects.

Here is a link to Worst SB QBs of all time from SI. It doesn't list only the winners, but if you thought there area some bad winners, check out the SB losing QBs.  :D

I agree with McMahon for the winners.

Dilfer. Though didn't Staubach drop a few title games before he got his act together? :D

McMahon, rapping aside, was in no way a bad QB. He was injury prone and might not have made the best decisions regarding placing his body in the path of a linebacker, but the Minnesota Game in 1985, where he came off the bench with the Bears down by 2+ TD's and his first 2 passes were TD's (both 40+ yards IIRC) removes him from the list of "bad QB's" quite easily.

This is very, very easy!

Garo Yepremium. (sp)

And before somebody says that he ain't no quarterback then you better tell that to Garo. We can all agree that is isn't a quarterback. :D

Tony Eason..... Gawd he was awful.

Come to think of it, I wonder how in blazes that New England team even made the playoffs, never mind go to the Super Bowl. Talk about a lucky string.

Eason's numbers during his "productive" stretch.

Year.....Comp.....Att.....PCT......YD.....TD......INT

----------------------------------------------------------

1984.....259.......431....60.1....3228....23.......8

1985.....168.......299....56.2....2156....11......17

1986.....276.......448....61.6....3328....19......10

The year they made the superbowl (1985), Grogan passed for 1,300 yards.

The defense was ranked 6th in points allowed in '85.

They were 11-5 and 11-5 in 85 and 86, so they must have been doing something right.

I don't know how often it has happened since, or if it has, but they were the first team to win 3 road playoff games to reach the Superbowl..........

AFC Wildcard Game: won 26 - 14 at New York Jets

AFC Divisional Playoff: won 27 - 20 at Los Angeles Raiders

AFC Championship Game: won 31 - 14 at Miami Dolphins
