I wont go inside but the tailgate for this is gonna be awesome I went and saw DLR in November at a local indian casino and while the show was more or less pretty solid (and whetted my appetite for a VH reunion), tickets ran $65 each (offset by a $200 win at the craps table), and the crowd was a mostly a bunch of Megan Foxy Megan Fox types (myself included, apparently). I wouldn't want to party with these people. I also am lukewarm about seeing Wolfgang Van Halen, age 15, play bass. Michael Anthony was nothing special mind you, and arguably the luckiest man in rock history, but jeez, seems kind of stupid. I Like Soup
"I see it absolutely as an inevitability," Roth told Billboard.com last May of a potential reunion with his ex-bandmates. "To me, it's not rocket surgery. It's very simple to put together. And as far as hurt feelings and water under the dam, like what's-her-name says to what's-her-name at the end of the movie 'Chicago' -- 'So what? It's showbiz!' So I definitely see it happening." What a complete idiot. Edited January 25, 2007 by I Like Soup

NSab
Could be good, but I saw David Lee Roth and Hagar on tour a few years back. Hagar blew Roth away, it was sad actually.

In speaking about coaching about 2/3 of the way through he says, "It's not Rocket Scientry, I can guarantee you that..."
godtomsatan
Wonder if Eddie Van Halen still looks like THIS. There's an article somewhere (wikipedia?) about Eddie Van Halen's tongue cancer problem. He's had a chunk of it removed and he says it's from holding metal picks in his mouth in the studio (not the three packs of cigs he smokes a day). rajncajn
I used to be a HUGE Van Halen fan. I could probably still recite every single song they put out with DLR to this day. I even stayed a big fan after they dumped DLR for Hagar, but after Hagar was dumped I was pretty well over their BS all-together. Today I wouldn't pay a dime to go see them. Maybe if it was a free concert at one of the casinos, but I doubt it.
tonorator
not the same without mikey and the jack daniels bass guitar. if you are going to reunite, then freakin' reunite. don't put a high school freshman up on stage. eddie's turned into such a dillwad and i lost all respect for dlr when he turned VH songs into banjo tunes. why can't eddie continue to channel his gift into some new music? surely he has to have more to put out there today vs. just running through the oldies again. even though i was second row for the last tour with hagar, it was tired and forced. i can't imagine trying to get up for this line up. this is a huge step backwards for eddie and i'm not at all interested in partying with him with a minor on stage front and center. i'd have more respect for them if they gave it another shot to try and make it work with cherone ... at least the music was changing and exploring. this blows. jaxfactor
I'll never forget seeing them for the first time back in '78. They opened up for Black Sabbath and absolutely blew Sabbath off the stage. Of course their debut album was IMO top 5 debuts ever. Saw them again in the Stanley Theatre(approx. 3000 seating cap.)in Pittsburgh. Unbelievable show and the accoustics were fabulous in that tiny place. I saw them for their first 3 tours then lost interest as I just coudn't get into the keyboard/synthesiser thing. Just didn't seem right with VH. Never saw them with Hagar but did see Hagar solo a couple times and the Red Rocker brought down the house! For someone that never saw them with DLR, it might be worth seeing, but I'll just keep the good memories of the first 3 times I saw them intact. I wouldn't want to ruin it afterall.
