Azazello1313
I don't think we've done a thread quite like this before. I'm not talking about the ones you consider the "greatest" rock bands, or most important, or whatever. just the ones that have come to be your personal favorites over the years. mine, offered here in no particular order, probably reflect when I came of age more than anything else, though some pre-date and some are a bit newer...but they are all awesome bands that more than stand the test of time. Can Velvet Underground REM Sonic Youth Husker Du The Pixies Taling Heads Ramones Yo La Tengo Tortoise tough to pare down to 10. the last two to get cut were Television and Wilco. skylive5
Hmmmm..... this could be tough. Not in any particular order. Original Fleetwood Mac TYA CCR ABB Molly Hatchett War The Animals Arcade Fire Hollies Weather Report I'm all over the place when it comes to music so not easy to narrow it down. ETA: I know that a couple of those are not "rock" bands.... but hey, what can I say. Edited August 10, 2010 by skylive5
driveby
First 3 are easy. Def Leppard AC/DC Scorpions Depending on my preference at the moment probably 50 bands could fill out the next 7 at one point or another. Van Halen Led Zepplin The Outfield Jethro Tull Journey Cheap Trick Boston

tonorator
in no order ... radiohead zep ac/dc van halen def leppard u2 boston the outfield pearl jam guns & roses big fan of the yes album 90125, but most of their other stuff is just noodling ... beatles also nearly made the cut, along with living color. the outfield probably looks a bit out of place but i was hugh into them at one point in my early life. did you know they have put out 8 studio albums, 1 live album, and 3 greatest hits albums? most only know them from "josie's on a vacation far away ..." others would have made the top 10 if we were including individual artists vs. bands ... rocknrobn26
I'm afraid to post here as I have no idea (ref Van Halen post) what a rock vs rockabilly, vs folk, vs metal, etc. is! Can't we just say "Favorite Groups/singers/musicians/what the flock ever"????? I need to lay down now.
