After the last 2 weeks of my players not doing much and opponents' players going berserk on me, i have no more love for the game.

You sound like a first year player.   😆  I get the burn, this is the time of year for it. We'll see ya next year.

Sorry BJ.  Know this may not help, but my team actually did its norm for the year so didn’t actually go berserk on ya.  Small consolations maybe?

Always a tough time. And what it further weird is suddenly the teams are done and over and thing thing you nurtured for four months is just gone. I had a great year going that ended up just good thanks to disappearing acts like Mahomes, Diggs, etc. It is just a jarring thing to me when the season is over.

Diggs has done this back to back years and it's painful. I could've started any reputable player off of my bench and won a championship, but no, I had to start the studs.

This funny game/hobby we share certainly has its ups and downs.  What's hard is, while both are memorable, I think for a lot of us the "downs" stick in the backs of our minds more than the "ups" do.  I'm sure I've won leagues as the 5- or 6-seed, but don't even recall for sure.  Meanwhile, the times when you come up short as the top seed are hard to forget.

I had too many shares of guys who either got hurt when it mattered (Hockenson, Sutton, etc.) or guys who just had really bad games in Week 16.  Diggs, Adams, Mahomes, Kelce, Pacheco, Mixon, etc.  Really hard to watch.

This is 100% accurate for most of us. I won in a league this year, but I keep mulling over the league I fell short in by 4 points.

I think ending the season in a position to win it and losing is always going to sting. Not in that position often myself, more often I'm out before the playoffs start. I've lost a lot of passion for the game over the years, never played in more than one league and keep thinking "maybe I'm done".

But it adds some fun to the NFL season, for some its more like a job with 5-10 or more teams.

If you need a year off or longer that's fine.

Play dynasty

Your season is never "over". If you're out of the playoffs, you can trade to set yourself up for a better next season

Some anonymouse guy already said that.

After running a dynasty league I could never go back to redraft, too much luck and no real emotional investment.  But if anyone is considering it, I'd look at platforms other than Yahoo.  It's a nice interface but kind of a PITA for year to year.

On the original topic, I was points leader and in 9th place.  Had 5 wins in a row and finished the regular season in 2nd.  Projected to win both playoff games but lost both due to studs just not studding.

I love dynasty leagues, but they're impacted by luck just as much as the others, unfortunately.  It's just a big part of the game, regardless of format.
