irish
TEN - Titans WR Williams Still Recovering From Broken Ankle Source: Jim Wyatt, The Tennessean Tennessee Titans wide receiver Roydell Williams is still recovering from the broken ankle he suffered at the end of last season and isn't sure when he'll be back on the field. Williams just started running two weeks ago. As a result of inactivity, he's gained 7 pounds and is up to 197 but said he plans on losing the weight. For now, he's learning offensive coordinator Mike Heimerdinger's offense from the sideline. "It is tough, especially with the new coordinator,'' he said. "It is a whole new offense and I learn best by going out and (working).'' [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ OUR VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] We said it the other day but it still rings true - the fact that the Titans are counting on Roydell Williams is somewhat telling. The fact they're putting in a new offense that Williams is missing practice time with is certainly not helping things. ----------------------------------------- TEN - Expectations Growing For Titans WR Gage Source: Jim Wyatt, The Tennessean Coming off the best season of his NFL career, if Tennessee Titans wide receiver Justin Gage is feeling pressure these days, it's for an entirely different reason. He now knows expectations are much higher for him to produce, arguably as the team's No. 1 receiver. "I know things are going to be different. Defenses will focus on me more, and it's going to make it tougher,'' Gage said. "But at the same time, it is not as much pressure as trying to make a roster spot, wondering, 'If I mess up, are they going to cut me?' "Now I can just go out there and have fun.'' [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ OUR VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Gage will be expected to help make Mike Heimerdinger's new offense shine. And he'll do that by being a productive target for Vince Young. We'll be watching how he performs in camp this spring and summer but right now, expectations are high. ------------------------------------- STL - WR Holt On WR Avery Source: Bill Coats, St. Louis Post-Dispatch Asked his early impressions of rookie wide receiver Donnie Avery, veteran wide receiver Torry Holt said tersely, "Right now, I don't have any impressions of Donnie Avery. ... Hopefully, during training camp he'll show me something." It's not that Holt is unhappy with Avery; he just wants to let him know that he has to prove himself before he can run with the big dogs. Which is fine with Avery. "I like that," he said. "When other people are strict on me, it brings the best out of me." [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ OUR VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Interesting exchange there with Holt. But one that makes sense. Holt isn't giving Avery much credit yet as Avery hasn't earned much yet. It's all part of making the transition to the next level. ---------------------------------- Didn't want to bite off Chappy's bit but I just got these couple in an email, so I posted them. irish
Dude. Just stop. It's sad. You know what you're right, it is sad. It's sad that I came on here 3-4 years ago shooting off my mouth and taking stances that rubbed so many the wrong way, sad that as Hugh One put it so well on many occasions how I stepped on my dick over and over, sad that instead of just being myself and finding a comfy place here I tried to fit in just too damn much, sad that I resorted to attempting to create a new beginning for myself here instead of just going with the flow taking the shots as they came, repairing what was salvageable and ignoring what couldn't be fixed. However, what is not sad is making it almost 1,000 posts in, under my new start and being treated fairly for the most part by most members here because I acted like my true self and not the dick from years past and yet I knew eventually things would get to hectic and I'd screw up. So even though things have been much better for me lately, my original Huddle name will be the one I must stick with. I'm not sorry I did what I did as it allowed me to be a part of the Huddle without all the BS (which I realize was only made possible by my own actions). I will continue on from here on out as Irish, fulfill my obligations to my BoTH Leagues and occasionally chime in from time to time. I would like to thank many of the Vets here at the Huddle for putting me through some of the trying times that I've had here as the lessons I've learned have been invaluable and have had implications beyond these boards. As a side note, the Player Updates will continue as a good deal of Huddlers seemed to appreciate them.

irish
Too many stories to list specifics? My original post was loaded with different stories but I edited it. If I get a chance I'll post them again. I believe the only Huddler to see it was Loyalboyd and amazingly so, he didn't make a stink about it. Thanks for that LB. irish
If this isn't a sad and pathetic cry for help I don't know what is... No it really isn't but it certainly could seem that way. I have an absolutely terrific life that will continue on without issue. I've just botched up quite a bit here. No big deal, life goes on... I've just botched up quite a bit here. No big deal, life goes on... Fair enough...but here are a couple of 'quarters' for you...first of all, if you post something someone else has wrote, either post the link with it or at the very least have the decency to quote that person for writing it in the first place...second of all, if you want to post something written by the FBG, just DON'T...think long and hard about this. If we wanted to read that dribble we'd be over there and not here...doesn't take a whole hell of a lot of thought to figure that one out.

No worries bro, I was posting FF news bits to the Huddle (back in 1998). Blogging isn't anything new or specific to any particular person. Sleeping King
Anyone that has their feelings hurt over what some dude says on a fantasy football message board should have to punch himself in the nuts. I've never had any problems with Irish and truth be told the updates he posts are better news than anything that is on the huddle main page. I think you should create 12 more names and have them all talk to each other posting your updates. Think multiplicity.
