New Job

I had a job interview today for a promotion at work, and I just got a phone call letting me know that they will be making an offer on Monday !!!!! :D:wacko::D

The interview was brutal, but, all is well that ends well.

This job does require about 30% travel, mostly driving travel, but, when I'm not traveling, I can work from home, which is a dream come true for me !!!!!!!!

Anyway, I just had to share my good fortune, as I go off to celebrate a bit !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Woo Hoo !!!!

Mom is a teacher, so, during the summer, I'll be able to see the little one during work breaks...

First off, congrats.

But who will be watching the little one while you are working from home? How do you only see him during work breaks?

Just curious.

My point is I couldn't work from home right now because my 3 year old daughter would have a hard time understanding dads working.

It may be a bit harder then you think if the little fella is there.

+1 I work at home a day or two a week and its nearly impossible to convince my 5 year old that I'm not "working." If you have an office or something you can lock, I would suggest being in there working before he/she gets up in the morning and not letting him see you come out. Otherwise, relentless door knocking will ensue.

On the other hand, if by "working" from home you mean simply being available to do actual work as the need arises, you should be golden.

That is impossible, unless mom is stay at home.

Oh yea...and congrats....as someone who has been working at home for a couple years, I love it...but I actually look forward to being on the road when it includes working in an office sometimes......As I an sitting here working at home at this very hour:

So you travel and work at home.

Some promotion....

Don't be a Deby Downer.

But, I will say that I think you will find out how much 30% away might really mean. I did it when I was married without the son, there is no way I'd do it with a family.
