Thanks guys! I had just about collected enough cans to pay for the entry fee, but now I can spend that money to get my kids some shoes. Now the kids at school won't make fun of them and it will keep protective services off my back!! Thanks again, from all of us!

Curious if there is a safeguard in place to prevent someone from entering more than one team. Didn't think it was a big deal when we were paying - but being free, the temptation would be much greater.

Up to 661 players. Look like their getting the memo. I hope every single Huddler gets in. :D

I'd be worried that the "free leagues suck" thing manifests itself in more abandonned teams since owner/operators no longer have a financial investment (once hopes of winning are extinguished), but that just ensures that I'll have a better chance of not finishing last, I suppose ... :D ... Hmmm. A new venture. This will be fun.

THANKS HUDDLE!! :D

Economically, this makes no sense. Even if someone had paid a million dollars to play, once their hopes of winning are extinguished they have just as much reason to quit playing as someone who paid nothing to play. (i.e. sunk costs don't matter)

One of the most important things I learned in college was from a financial accounting class (which I hated) and that was "sunk costs are no costs". It applies to time, money and effort equally. What is done is no consideration.

Just wanted to share that and pretend that my marketing degree was neccessary for me to get so I could sit at home and write about football. :D

Gambling laws cover all types of gaming. How they address casinos have nothing to do with how they address (or don't address) fantasy sports.

Just so there is no misconception. You have to be a paid member of The Huddle to play. When you paid for The Huddle you had to use a credit card. That purchase recorded where you were from. Um... I think we will know what state you live in.

here is a serious question, if i wanted to help out a "restricted" state resident couldnt i just purchase another huddle membership? the rules clearly define that multiple entrys per account are not allowed and at the same time it says one entry per paying account is allowed, and that members living in restricted states are allowed to be co-owners. would this be possible to do?

5. Eligibility:  The HMVPC is open to all paid subscribers of The Huddle web site. However, you must be 21 years of age or older and a legal residents of the 50 United States, Washington D.C., and Canada (excluding Puerto Rico and Quebec). Residents of Arizona, Iowa, Louisiana,  Montana and Vermont, (collectively “Restricted States”) may play and be noted in the standings, but they are not eligible to win any prizes. Employees of InterSport, Inc. and members of their immediate families are not eligible to play. (Immediate family is defined as parent, sibling, or any other person residing in the same household as employee or consultant).  Contestants must have and supply their own access to a computer and the Internet to manage their teams. Only one entry is allowed for each subscriber to The Huddle web site. All multiple entries and entries that don't match The Huddle's subscriber list will be disqualified and ineligible for any prizes.

not trying to open a can of worms here, just think that this rule sucks for members that are affected

...and just for the record i legally live in texas, land of no state income tax :D
