Morton needed to be escorted away in a neck splint and taken to a hospital. To make matters worse, he was also suspended by the California State Athletic Commission after the fight for failing to produce a urine sample. However, as much as it may sound silly, that might've been his gameplan going in. The hard stare down in the beginning followed by the flailing punches in the first 10 sec, then he tried to tackle him and as soon as the fight turn into skilled maneuvering it was one and done. But Morton might've been thinking if I can just psych this guy out and over-power/out-muscle him then maybe I can make something happen-WRONG!! I also think he had no business being on a K-1 big event for his MMA debut. He didn't belong in there but you'd be surprised what people think they can do. Another thing the video of that fight made me think about was how much respect I have for fighters who can take a punch and just keep going. I've seen many fighters get hit with a very similar shot that sent Morton into La-La Land and they just shrug it off or move around the ring until they have their wits about them. Amazing!!
