Czarina
If I have only 2 months to live, I probably feel too ill already to do too much. I'll need more warning.

yo mama
I'd probably wear my wolf shirt and know that it gives me immortality and not worry about it. Ah, but what if the cause of your abbreviated lifespan was rooted in someone else, who was also wearing a wolf shirt.
MojoMan
With all respect to Professor Pausch, I have never seen a healthier person with metastatic pancreatic cancer. I'm not sure what to think. Edited February 27, 2008 by MojoMan
Brentastic
I'd probably watch that new movie with Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman and see what kind of zany antics they do - then do that.

theprofessor
Joking aside, this should be an inspiration to everyone. High Integrity, higher character. As I get older and wiser how I choose to live my life, the examples I want to set and the legacy I want to leave mean more to me every day. Savage Beatings
First I would make amends with some of the people I have wronged. Then, I would stop working and just spend every day doing a bunch of different things with my son. I'd bring my digital camera with us and try to document as much of our time together as possible. MojoMan
Perhaps you missed what he was saying. I got the point; my point is that pancreatic cancer is one of the sh!ttiest ways to die. There's usually a lot of pain involved, nausea and vomiting. I thought he said he has ~12 liver mets. Those and the pancreatic mass are likely to cause cholestasis and jaundice. IIRC, they use platinum-based chemo for pancreatic CA which is highly emetogenic. I guess I am doubting his claim that he has two months to live but you never know. I agree with his message. It's just watered down because of his appearance and how discordant it is compared to what I would expect.

McBoog
I try to live this! Great guy and it is good to see that treatment is giving him some extra time. I turned down a promotion last month that would have paid more and given me more work environment esteem, but it would have taken a lot of time away from what I love most... the four people waiting for me at the end of the day at home. If I were single (and guys brains can seem to always go down this road), con you get a callous on your willie from too much sex?

It's just watered down because of his appearance and how discordant it is compared to what I would expect. One of my coworkers has pancreatic cancer and when she was diagnosed the doctors told her that she likely had between 2 and 6 months to live. She did not appear to be sick at all when they told her that. (Somewhat miraculously, she was diagnosed and told this in November 2006 and is still alive today. In fact, she actually now has a chance of surviving. Back in November 2006 they performed a surgery to try to remove her tumor, but they said it was too large and connected to her portal vein to be safely removed. She went on chemo in an attempt to extend her life. At her regular check-ups, the tumor seemed to be staying steady and then in December a scan showed that the tumor had actually shrunk in size. A few weeks ago, she went in to surgery again to see if the tumor could be removed and the doctors were able to get out all of it except some microscopic cells that showed up on a scan a few days later. She is now on radiation and a different chemo to try to kill off these remaining cells.)
