Is there a Canadian mafia that "be-foots" people?

Fifth human foot found in Canada

A human foot has been found on a beach near the west-coast city of Vancouver, Canadian police say.

It is the fifth human foot to wash up on beaches in the area in the past year. The latest find is a left foot, whereas the other four were right feet.

Walkers spotted the body part floating in water off the suburb of Westham Island in British Columbia on Monday.

Police and coroners are trying to identify the foot and discover if it is linked to the others found in the area.

All were wearing shoes and had been in the water for some time.

A police spokesman, PC Sharlene Brooks, said the find was being treated as a criminal investigation.

"We are certainly not discounting the possibility that this may be linked to the other recovered feet, but it is just too premature and very speculative for us to even entertain that right now," PC Brookes said.

She said police might not be able to say for some time whether the foot's DNA matched a known missing person, or any of the feet found previously.

The previous discoveries, all right feet, were all wearing running shoes.

Last August, two human feet washed up on the beaches of small islands north of Vancouver. Then in February a third single, right foot drifted ashore.

The fourth foot was discovered on a beach in suburban Vancouver in May.

The city's newspapers and coffee shops are buzzing with theories to explain the mystery, says the BBC's Ian Gunn in Vancouver.

Organised crime, boating accidents - even the 2004 Asian tsunami - are all being offered as possible solutions, our correspondent says.

Police have said there is no evidence that the feet were deliberately severed or removed by force.

Forensic experts say it is not unusual for body parts to become separated after they have been in the water for a long time.

Maybe they should ask people who are missing a foot. Hey stumpy, does this look familar?

I won't eat pig's feet, so it's probably a canibal who just won't eat feet.

No biggie.

ummm, cannibal is a white racist term used by the man to keep our people down. I prefer the term "human appetite gifted"

As per cnn.com...a 6th foot has washed up on the same beach...

(CNN) -- A severed foot -- the sixth this year -- washed up on the shore of a Canadian island on Wednesday, police said.

Severed feet have washed up on Westham Island, south of Vancouver, British Columbia.

The right foot was found by a local woman walking on the beach, said Sgt. Mike Tresoor of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police in the town of Campbell River on Vancouver Island, British Colombia.

Authorities were planning an afternoon news conference to release more details.

The foot was the sixth discovered on shorelines in the area since August, according to local police and media reports. Another foot -- a severed left foot still clad in a shoe -- was found Monday on the shore of Westham Island, south of Vancouver. Police said it was taken to a coroner for DNA testing.

The severed left foot, which was in a shoe, was taken to a coroner for DNA tests, she added.

"Our first step is to establish identity," said Constable Sharlene Brooks of the Delta Police Department in British Columbia. "It is a little mysterious, but we don't know if it is linked to others."

The Vancouver Sun newspaper said the first four feet found in the area were all right feet, making the foot found Monday the only left foot. Although the gruesome finds have drawn international attention, police said it may take some time to unravel the mystery.

"We suffer from the 'CSI' effect; people think this can happen very quickly," Brooks said. "It could take weeks or months. And even if we get a DNA sample, we need a sample to match it with."

The mystery has caused a stir and given birth to many rumors, locals say. One newspaper has began investigating a rash of young men who have gone missing in the area.

Some have wondered if the feet could belong to a group of men who were in a plane that recently crashed in the waterway where the feet were found.

If they don't solve this soon, someone's gonna get a foot up their @ss or at least a boot to the head.

It's probably a podiatrist gone inzany.

I don't know if they're still together, but there was a Canadian comedy group called The Frantics who used to do a bit and the punchline was "boot to the head".

Just saying is all.

Boot to the head

Tae kwon leap

Couldn't find a video of the actual skit for the second link.

This must be foul play IMO. They are looking at possibly people who drowned or maybe a plane crash, etc... But if that were the case why would it only be a foot that washed up on shore. Why not a hand, or a head, or a penis?

Edit: Or maybe they were attacked by a

Maybe someone decided to make a Hong Kong martial arts film for real. :D
