They know in their heart that they have no ties whatsoever to the team and as a result they typically overcompensate their fandom to obnoxious levels. Their greatness was long ago, yes more recently than my Browns. But they were also great for a period, before I became a fan, and in a period now ignored by most who cover the NFL.
