Can't say FFB is a hobby anymore, all i do is work and sleep. I had 1 hour with no work, wife and kids around yesterday and it hit me, i have no interest in anything. Don't mind workin but it's been consuming and will be the rest of the year. How do you guys relax/enjoy life?

In the summer I have my vegetable garden. Aside from that, I am soo busy with work that any free time I have I use for quality time with the family.

Like the early Pennsylanvania Dutch, I have two:

Fearing God

Loving Work

After those two are accomplished I like to garden/farm, read, eat robustly, hunt, a little fly fishing, lie on my back and make shapes out of clouds, watch TV, study all I can about the American legal system.

I've felt like that part of my life has been put on hold the past few years. Really looking forward to having a new yard to landscape, and I'm going to try to build some bookcases and maybe a couple big wooden chaise lounges. If I suck at woodworking, I've always wanted to take up golf.

Guitar

Painting Warhammer Models

WoW

But I also have a secret hobby where i like to manipulate lower level managers at work and pit them against each other. Read a book called the 48 laws of power and then once you are done start doing it at work. It's fun.

I have my veggie garden in the summer but that really does take up a lot of time once the planting is done. I have been giving a lot of thought to thos lately:

Hope I follow through with it in the early fall.

A recent meniscus tear in my left knee as sort of sidelined me from some of my hobbies (cycling, and generally working out).

We spend a lot of time in the garden and now have added chickens to mix.

This isn't completely a hobby, because it's an extension of my job, but "studying" beer and wine, cooking, and making cocktails is something I really enjoy.

I also like building things. Our chicken coop, raised beds, my desk, our kitchen island...
