 NO!!! Not how it happened but very funny none the less. Actually I did it pulling out of my school parking lot. It was terrible. :D:doh: I couldn't tell if he was f'ed up from being drunk or because I hit 'em?!?! Since he was drunk, he refused medical attention and I thought it was the end of that. Long story short it all worked out in the end but it wasn't easy for a while. By the way, there was a court appearance that I had to make. :D

Actually if you sever it, the artery will naturally shut itself closed but if you nick it you bleed to death. The EMT's said I was the bloodiest pickup they ever had. We had to throw my cowboy boots away because they were filled with blood. They had to cut my shirt and pants off because they too were drenched.

Ripping my scalp off made the top of my head have no feeling for a few years. Then it itched for a few years and then it finally got back to normal. I have a large "J" scar over the top of my skull covered by my hair.

This is BY FAR the scariest post of this thread. Damn, DMD, I'm glad you made it out of that one alive and we're all here because of you.

Having flashbacks because of this thread.

THE STUPID:

I was 18 and had been to several graduation parties. To make a long story short, left the last party totally ripped and my buddy tackled me to get the keys(I was driving). I got totally pissed(and I don't remember any of this, 2 people told me what i did) and stood on the side of the road punching cars as they drove by 35-40MPH. I then reached out and pulled a guy's antenna off his Cadillac as he drove by. My buddy said if he hadn't seen it himself, he would have never believed it. The big fat dude stopped and wanted to kill me.

I'm standing there with an antenna and wires hanging out and still raising hell. The only thing I remember is getting cuffed and thrown into the police car. Funny thing is, my buddy wrecked my car on his way home.

PARTY TO THE MAX:

Two of my fellow Pittsburgh buds(we all lived in Florida) and I used to do roadtrips when the Penguins played the Panthers and Lightning. We were at a strip club in either Ft. Lauderdale or Pompano Beach and having a blast. Had 3 women dancing on our table. My buddy notices this dude walking in with a couple bigger dudes. He says, "whats with the Panama Jack dude?" You can envision what he was wearing. We laughed at him. The guy comes right to our table and says that we seem to having a great time. Would we mind if he joins us? We say, "what the hell". Well, this guy called himself Mr. Big and claimed he was Wayne

Huezenga's lawyer. He had this giant can totally packed with bills of all denominations. He wouldn't let us pay for a thing and payed our tab the whole evening. Had an absolute blast that night but alot of it is foggy as I was totally wasted. Best strip club experience I've ever had in my entire life! Makes me kinda sad though now as my one buddy died at the age of 41(8 or so years ago). Haven't done a road trip since. :D

The scalp bleeds like a stuck pig. Head wounds that do not break the skull always look much worse then they really are.

Is that where all the blood was coming from?

I didn't know that about the artery. I've heard some serious horror stories from my pops about wrecks.

I remember when I had my motorcycle accident in college I bled pretty good too. I was by myself and a stranger in a white van was kind enough to render aid ... he drove me to a nearby hospital. I was in shock so I literally remember absolutely nothing about that good samaritan. I must have bled all over his van ... I just remember that it was white and fairly junked out.

When I got to the ER they called for a wet clean up and a wheel chair in that order.

I guess another thing I expect I have done that nobody here has likely done is fallen on the grill at McDonalds and suffered 2nd and mild 3rd burns on my palm and stomach. That was when I first learned about the goodness of Demoral.

When I lived in Germany I ran into a wall and split my forehead wide open ... and head wounds do bleed severely. By the time I got home I was literally covered in my own blood and my mother passed out when she came to the door and saw me.

Most of the blood came from the carotid artery - it didn't squeeze itself closed instantly. Plus I am sure the top of my scalp being torn up so badly was bloody on it's own. I needed a transfusion but not sure how much.

My wife was also in the backseat of a car that went head-on into a semi-truck and messed her up pretty bad. It killed our friend who was driving unfortunately. Between her and I, not sure we will ever allow my son to drive a car.

one of my first jobs was at a relatively small woodshop that made alot of moldings. I spent alot of time standing over a table saw with 3 carbide tipped blades about an inch apart. You had to slide a jig over the blades and they grooved the molding. There was no guard on this saw. I went to slide the jig over the blades and was holding down on the moulding with my thumbs and just before the blades the moulding rolled and my thumbs went right into the blades. Funy thing was it did'nt hurt. I never looked at my hands just tucked my thumbs into my palms and closed my hands and walked across the shop to my foreman. He had another guy drive me to the E.R. I had a plastic surgeon that was a hand specialist sew my thumbs back together and went home a few hours later. Not sure what they shot me in the butt with but I felt pretty good all evening. The next morning I felt like my thumbs were smashed by a train. :D

I once broadsided a moving car while riding a bicycle.

Damn!!! You were like a constant accident looking for a place to happen. If I was your father I would've built and put your ass in a padded room for a couple hours a day to lower the probability of more injuries.

I'm probably the only person here who first met his wife at the top of the Eiffel Tower.

That's at least somewhat romantic. I met my wife for the first time at the Special Olympics. And no she wasn't one of the "Specials"!!
