JoJoTheWebToedBoy Posted July 17, 2009 Share Posted July 17, 2009 A few weeks ago during a routine checkup one of my wife's lab tests came back odd so her doctor sent her over to radiology for an ultrasound on her kidneys and they found something that alarmed them. So within a couple of days she was getting a CT Scan and a couple of days later we were being told that she has cancer in one of her kidneys. So tomorrow at 8 AM, she will be having her kidney removed. The doctor says it should take about 3-4 hours to complete, and if all goes well she should be out of the hospital in 4-5 days. The doctor seems to think that it hasn't spread, but he'll know more once he open's her up. Man, talk about a shock to the system. We both just sat there looking at each other stunned. Took a couple of days to sink in. You know what the hardest part of this is....... telling your family and friends. Especially your kids. That's the worst discussion you will ever have.
