 I guess the nfc east winner wasnt such a push over after all

I know you aren't jumping on the Giants bandwagon just because they are from the East. You frickin' hate the G-men. I don't think the allegiances to a division works well in the NFL. I get it in college football but not here. I was rooting my ass off against Green Bay even though they are from the Norris. I hate those bastards because they beat the Lions all the time (even with a backup QB)

I see what you did there. Clever. Good luck with the Vikings.

I'm curious to see how they follow up a 3-13 season without Peterson. Should be fun.

Try as you may but you cannot ruin my fun tonite...

besides, I am like Bronco Billy...I actually have four favorite teams...so one of them is bound to do well next year...

You might be right! But I've always been higher on Eli than most. Great system in New Orleans. Great offensively-minded coach. A lot of offensive weapons. The system is part of Drew Brees success right? He wasn't very good in San Diego . . .

Initially, that team was horrible. By the time they got some pieces around him, he started putting up some nice numbers.

2004 65.5% 27 TDs, 7 INTs.

Just sayin'. And, no, I wouldn't take Eli over Brees.

I was just thinking the same thing. Brees put up some pretty good numbers in San Diego. Yeah, the scheme provides him more opportunity in New Orleans, but I would dare you to find another QB in the league who could pull it off.

Honestly, I thought SD jumped the gun with taking another QB in 2004 when they could have addressed getting Brees a weapon or a defensive playmaker. I thought the jury was absolutely out on Brees at that time.

I haven't read this whole thread and, at what point it went sideways into talking about Brees, but the list of QBs I'd rather have than him is pretty effing short and, to be honest, only includes QBs that I'd be just as happy to have as him. Basically Rodgers and Brady. I suppose if age has anything to do with it, I'd take Rodgers.

Not jumping on a bandwagon but was definetly rooting for the Giants yesterday. Once Dallas is out I dont really care who wins but as a football fan I still follow and I have said it on here before, I pull for the East unless it was Philly. Plus my Dad is a Giants fan and we watched the game together yesterday . My comment was also directed at the fact that at the last game of the year the general consensus on here was that whether it was Dallas or the Giants that the east was going to offer up the sacrificial lamb.

Fair enough, I was saying that as much as the next guy. Perhaps I should have said, if the Cowboys manage to win, they're one and done.

well in fairness back to you I was also quoted as saying the Niners had a bloated record and would get exposed. They sure proved me wrong . Good luck next week. They are on a roll.

I havent read this whole thread so I am sure I am repeating what was already said. Obviously the drops were ridiculous for GB. Rodgers also missed a few key passes. GB was flat and sloppy and the Giants were sharp and not intimidated. Eli had so much time to throw that he could have done his taxes back there before releasing the ball. The Bradshaw run / hail mary was deflating as well. The only reliable reciever Rodgers had was Driver. He stayed focused and intense the whole game.

I expected the Giants to play well, but they were out of their minds yesterday, on both sides of the ball. Everyone talked about the Giants' pass rush being the key to the game...that aspect was actually pretty mediocre for the most part, and several times Rodgers just took off when the D-line did get some pressure. Normally it's pretty demoralizing for a defense when a QB does that repeatedly, but it was the only thing that worked for GB. Surprisingly it was the secondary that came up huge for the Giants, Rodgers simply had nowhere to throw it. And when he did, no one could hang on to the ball.

Just like in '07/'08, I don't recognize this team after watching them all season. All the elements are coming together when it counts, after being inconsistent for most of the year. After watching that last night, I feel like they can beat anyone.

Is everyone forgetting Stafford or are we still talking real world achievements only here?

Come on. Let the guy win a playoff game or a game that matter (see the season finale aganst Green Bay) before you say he is top 5. Fantasy maybe, but not NFL wise.
