CaP'N GRuNGe
Too bad the 49ers are already well established. 350 lb fans in goldilocks wigs who love nothing better than to put sausages in their mouths would be welcomed with open arms in San Francisco. Funny that little Green Bay doesn't seem to have these troub les. Of course, Wisconsin didn't elect a governor like Jesse the Body, either... No, Wisconsin just gives us well adjusted citizens like Ed Gein and Jeffrey Dahmer.
kcmast
I can't remember the show on KFAN, but they said one of the tribes from northern MN offered to pay the entire non-NFL portion of the stadium + give the state half the casino income if they could open one in the twin-cities. It was only the one day and I haven't heard it again.

Savage Beatings
Governor Dayton just said that he was confident that a stadium deal would get done next year. Ziggy Wilf replied, there is no next year. That pretty much tells you everything you need to know.
Savage Beatings
Oops, I guess it was Lester Bagley the Vikings VP that said "there is no next year." Nevertheless, it's not looking good.
Chief Dick
Just goes to show you that no team is really safe in today's sports world. If you can move the Browns and the Vikings, 2 storied franchises with solid fan bases, anyone can move.
BillyBalata
Hennepin Co. Could Help Save Vikings Stadium Deal Hennepin County Commissioners are meeting with developers of the Farmer's Market site. Sources tell 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS that the developers have reconfigured the Farmer's Market site and are now calling it the "Stadium District" site. It would move the stadium property line within 100 yards of Target Field. The idea is to create a sports complex with restaurants, hotels and entertainment connecting the new Vikings stadium to Target Field and Target Center. Hennepin County Commission Vice-Chair, Mark Stenglein confirmed that he and Commission Chairman, Mike Opat, have met regularly with developers of the Stadium District site. Sources tell us Hennepin County is waiting for the legislative session to end without a Vikings stadium deal. If that happens, expect Hennepin County and developers of the Stadium District site to unveil their plans publicly. Sources also tell us Target Corporation has expressed interest in the naming rights to the new stadium, giving the company naming rights on Target Field, Target Center and what would be the new Target Stadium. 3D view of proposed Farmers Market Site

MikesVikes
It really pisses me off when the representatives can't Agee on anything. After the news broke, they were all pointing fingers at each other. The committee that killed it sounded like it was the very first day that they heard anything about any Vikings stadium. The team has been seeking a new stadium for A long time. The reps were very unprofessional and should all be removed.
MikesVikes
Even Arden hills wants to get back in the action. That was the preferred site of the team to begin with. The Vikes don't want to go to a plan B at this point. They don't want to start over now.

No championships/ Failing to pay hardworking hookers at a players event? Vehicular assualt on meter maids? Players brawling with cops and declaring their arms more powerful than the cops guns? Coaches such as Tes Steckle, Chilly, and Tice? Wait, I've got it. Due to general Manager Mike Lynn's acumen he created a dynasty.... for the Cowboys. Savage Beatings
Listening to Mark Rosen (long tenured local sports reporter) on KFAN this morning he said that he was up late last night talking with two different sources about the stadium deal. He said that as far as the NFL is concerned, if a deal doesn't happen this session (in the next 12 days) then the team will be sold to someone who wants to move it. He said there would be an outside chance of the Governor calling a special session to get a deal done this Summer, but that the team is ready to move on at this point (having played this game of stadium tag for abotu 6 years now). What sucks is, I can't even get excited for the draft now (one of my favorite times of the year) because the Vikings are basically drafting for some other location now instead of Minnesota. rajncajn
Goodell issuing threats It's a shame, on one hand I'd like to see someone finally stand up to the NFL and refuse to spend tax dollars to build them a new palace. On the other, it would be a travesty for their fans to lose their franchise.

stevegrab
Classy As classy as the post by Ditkaless Wonders. Why people cannot leave their homerism out of some discussions is beyond me. The Vikings (despite all the BS that DW posted) are a storied franchise with a long history. I've listened to Steeler fans make the same dumb remarks if people say the Browns are storied franchise. "How many SB have you won?" Duh none there were NFL championships before that, and all of of their success (back in the 90s when this was happening) were 20 plus years ago. Storied franchise to me is a team that's been around for 50+ years, and has a strong fan base, and some amount of succes. back to the point... Do the Wilfs want to sell? Can the NFL force them to sell? Just because a deal isn't done soon does not mean the Vikings are gone in 2013. Can they even move/sell in that time frame, and get owner/league approval?
