In regard to breaking the news to the kids, I think I would just be absolutely honest with them and pretty much lay it out the way you did here. Kids can smell BS a mile away. Not to belittle the grief of your kids, but your kids will probably take this a lot easier than you and your wife. More than that; you all will help each other no matter what happens. Not to belittle any of this in any way, but be glad you are all there for each other. Â And of course very best wishes and prayers to the little one and all of you.
